It's actually a good thing this video took this long. The Tampa stadium debacle was ready a total cluster since the hurricane, but now it's a 5 alarm fire. People on the ground here in Tampa are saying total relocation is now the most likely outcome, and there's no reason to fix the old stadium for a few years if the new one isn't guaranteed so not only could the Ray's be stuck in an A's situation playing in a minor league park, but the city could be left holding the bag with an abandoned stadium wreck like the old lions stadium in Detroit.

Their situation is pretty heartbreaking. They were in the WS just four years ago and made the playoffs every year from 2021 to '23, then they utterly collapsed in '24, and now we aren't even sure where they'll be playing next year, let alone five years from now. Yeah, there probably was some kind of curse at work there.
@cmd312204 сағат бұрын
@andyjay729 the problem is that even when they were good, the Rays just never made any money. Tropicana was never full, the stadium location is way outside the main metro, and if a world series couldn't change fan interest, nothing would. It's not even that ownership is all that cheap, it's just that Tampa is a small market team without the necessary cash flow.

Being a Toronto sports fan is the equivalent of getting your nuts smashed with a brick. Just endless torture. What the Blue Jays have shown me the past 3 years is that they don’t give two shits about being a World Series winning team, they’re nearing that Rockies Pirates territory of apathy every fanbase dreads their team reaches. Nothing more painful than watching former players succeed elsewhere and either win a World Series or make the World Series, Teo, Lourdes and Gabby will not be forgotten. Ross Atkins, Shapiro and Schneider won’t be fired, Rogers doesn’t give two shits if this team is good or not and care more for gaslighting the whole country, I hate them deeply now. At least the Leafs actively try to improve instead of coasting with mediocrity. Until they wake up the Jays will forever be remembered as the irrelevant Canadian team that blew an 8-1 lead in the playoffs that one time and failed on Ohtani. They aren’t getting Soto, don’t let anyone convince you they’re going to. Absolute dumpster fire franchise. But hey, at least we got stadium renovations. That’s what truly matters to this regime.
@ngarcia1035 сағат бұрын
As someone who is a Blue Jays fan but not a Leafs fan, I have no idea how Leafs fans put up with this kind of frustration. I'm not convinced we're getting Soto. After all the media hype surrounding Ohtani only to find out we were never a realistic option, I'm not letting the likes of Heyman, Morosi, Nightingale, Olney, Feinsand (among others) gaslight me again. If the Jays somehow do sign Soto, either the Jays or Soto himself (not his agent) can announce it.

We're not ruined because we have a mentality that we can go deep in the playoffs, but there's a lot of things that need to be fixed, specifically our pitching. It's a good thing we haven't slashed payroll this year and this ownership group actually wants to compete...kind off. It just sucks about what's going on with the stadium deal and Jordan Montgomery being another Madison Bumgarner deal....At this point, this team desperately needs a playoff run and a championship.

"What's going on guys, listen, first of all, huge fan, long time listener, first time caller. I know regardless of your individual allegiances, I love that you both look at these things objectively, and you provide a service to the fans of Chicago, we owe you a debt of gratitude. I've been a diehard Chicago White Sox fan for nearly 40 years. I say that with the very express intent of sharing my deep and undying love for this team, and my call is rooted in heartbreak, not anger. Don't get me wrong, I'm angry, but it is a byproduct of a dysfunctional abusive relationship with the front office, and the ownership of the Chicago White Sox. I also want to say I have defended this rebuild. I liked what the team did with the trades, I defended Yasmani and Dallas, I didn't understand the La Russa hire, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I forgave the free agents they let go, I was BEFUDDLED by the Benintendi and Clevinger signings, but you know what, I said, I'm going to give them one last shot, and when they canceled Sox Fest, like the cowards they are, I knew something was up. But now we know, obviously the experiment is over, the vast majority of the prospects have been busts. The product on the field is pathetic; we have exactly two players of excellence on this roster, Dylan Cease and Tim Anderson. Everyone else is nowhere near the kind of player they need to be to make this a winning team. You'd think that would be enough to wake this organization up, but yesterday Kenny Williams had the gall to say that he's not in a good place right now, and accountability is not an issue. You're right he's not in a good place, he's not in a job he should have. Think about all the promises that Rick Hahn made, mired in mediocrity, he bragged about Romy Gonzalez in spring training, and 'I'll trade him if I get the right price.' Think about the things that Grifol said, 'come to the park we're gonna kick everyone's butt.' They must've been talking about the fans, not the other team! The entire lineup is batting under .220! The best hitter on the team is JAKE BURGER! We're a Triple-A team! Our right fielders are hitting .180, with a weighted run created plus of 28! I don't even need to tell you about the pitching staff, Katz has gotta go. Moncada, T.A., Eloy, Yas, Joe Kelly, it's Week 4 they've all already been hurt! Tens of millions of dollars on replacement level players, while stars go elsewhere. We're 11 games under .500, the Bears needed six months to get 11 games under .500, we needed three weeks. In the 15 years of Rick Hahn, we have been a constant experiment that has never panned out. In the 25 years of Kenny Williams, we had exactly one season of excellence with a perfect storm of players that has not once come even close to being the same. I don't want to hear about the strength of schedule in April. With the money we've spent, the players we have, playing .500 ball should be underachieving, not 11 games under .500! We keep going after players that Rick Hahn liked five years ago. Lance Lynn, over the hill. Yas, over the hill. Benintendi, he wanted him in the draft six years ago, he's got a 0.1 WAR. Clevinger isn't just a clubhouse cancer, and a disgusting human being, he's a horrendous pitcher! Joe Kelly has been useless! We signed Vince Velazquez, give me a break! John Jay, Yonder Alonso, between them that's $200 million on a bunch of black holes and an ERA of 240! The entire organization is poisoned. The entire way they go about their business is a failure. Firing Rick isn't enough, firing Kenny isn't enough. If Chris Getz gets promoted, and we have to sit through another 15 year retool/rebuild, you're just gonna hear from me again in 2038! I don't care if we go on a torrid winning streak in May and June and somehow get back to .500 ball, and then we scooch our way into the postseason in the Wild Card, only to get bounced right away by a team that's actually good. We have no depth in our organization, one injury and we are DONE. This process isn't working, our farm system has been in the BOTTOM TEN for 45 years, aside from the one frame of time when they traded all our talent away and graduated them all right up, and then we were the worst again! There is one solution, in his final years, Jerry Reinsdorf, who by the way, wouldn't even have the reputation he has if he hadn't lucked upon Michael Jordan at 3 in 1984, has the courage to get rid of the yes-men around him and fire everyone. He bought into the Chicago White Sox for $20 million, he's worth $2 billion now. He needs to use a fraction of that money he made on the backs of Chicago's blue collar baseball fans and pay for a front office to come and rebuild everything. Rick Hahn and Kenny Williams can not be trusted to rebuild this team again. They need to retire and go off into the sunset and play golf with the millions of dollars they made on their cushy paychecks for a job that they had a longer leash for than any executive in the history of the modern era of baseball. Let someone qualified come in and run this team. At this point, we would need a HISTORIC turnaround to even be mildly relevant. Everyone says the AL Central was weak, and it might be in comparison to others, but the Sox aren't better than the Guardians or the Twins. We're not even better than the Royals! And the fact that we're only instrumentally better than the Tigers is exactly the kind of indictment on this organization that we need. The lack of success that this roster has is a referendum of what we've already seen in 2006, 2007, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 16, and the excruciating last seven years that only led to this. I mean, Stoney is more worried about Lance Lynn eating a salad than the entire organization not knowing how to teach major league prospects HOW TO HIT A BASEBALL!!"

The modern issues started when Mike Shildt was fired, and John Mozeliak and Co. refused to admit their wrongdoings. They got stubborn about the way they were doing things. Oli Marmol has been a yes man the entire time, but it's what Bill DeWitt and Mo wanted. The Cardinals need a reset in the worst possible way. As a Ranger fan I accepted that the season was a loss due to everything simply clicking right last year. As long as we continue to develop our prospects and maintain organizational structure I think we will be fine. Now to pester tree for the NHL vid if only to see him tear into Nashville and Boston.

I went to the last ever Oakland A’s game on September 26. I also went to the last Arizona Coyotes game on April 17.

"The offseason is a time for philosophy shifts and arsenal building." Unless you're Colorado. Best bar in Denver train keeps rolling. The owner will continue to take shots until morale improves.

As a hardcore Giants fan, I have to say that Tree got all of the most important points of our season. I personally felt that going all in last off season was a massive mistake and I hate being right. Tree nailed it though not quite. We have CONFLICTING DIRECTIONS. Our ownership group is severely bipolar when not full-blown schizophrenic. I love Posey but I am under no illusion that he can fix this team. We have the WORST FARM IN MLB right now. Greg Johnson (our ownership chairman) is the real source of our problems as he is more like Nutting and Moreno except far less competent.

Finally, a urinatingtree video that is not football related. Hopefully now we can get an NHL season haters guide. Then the NFL see's this and finds us another "Greatest Game". Football always consumes us whole.

The Reds getting Tito is something I'm really mixed about. On one hand Tito just loves managing baseball and being around it. On the other hand with his health issues like you mentioned I don't want to wake up to a Sportscenter headline being that Tito was suddenly hospitalized or worse during a game. I just want the man to get to Cooperstown and it NOT be a posthumous enshrinement.

Has anyone ever played Rise of Nations? Remember the in game mechanic called the Armageddon Clock where if players launch enough Nuclear Missiles the countdown causes all players to lose the match? How many more times can Miami nuke themselves before MLB folds and all teams cease operations?

I legitimately believe what happened to Tropicana Field might legitimately be the beginning of the end for the Tampa Bay Rays. To have any shot of this working out, the deal needed to be done before the hurricane. This force of nature might have singlehandedly monkey wrenched any potential shot at a public funded stadium for the next *decade* in the area. And with how stubbornly cheap Sternberg has been? I legitimately believe he might start looking elsewhere. It's the Arizona Coyotes in Mullett Arena all over again. I can't help but feel we might have to say hello to the Nashville Rays, or the Utah Rays, or the Carolina Rays, very soon.
