Going thru this diagnosis now, nails show oil spotting, dimpling & splinter hemorrhages , thick receding separation of nail. Signs of psoriasis not fungal. Also what looks like Guttate psoriasis on butt but derm says folliculitis. I studio cycle, rubbing & sweating. Chest rash diagnosis is Grovers syndrome which is triggered by sweaty cycling class. Eczema as a kid, maybe some now, 76 YO white male. Lot of stress. Thoughts?

Given your history of cycling and sweating, the buttocks area certainly sounds like folliculitis. Do you have any other signs of the Psoriasis other than the nails? You could consider a nail biopsy if necessary.

@@drhannahkopelman Hi, doc put me on oral retinoid Acitretin 10mg x1 day. About 5 weeks now, "everything" showing signs of improvement, blood testing for liver etc, ok. That's a very low dose for my 175lbs. So happy with improvements, nails growing out, this drug good for acne & psoriasis & has good residual effect.

I think I may have psoriasis I've had it now for about 5 months. It started off as a rash on my elbows and knees but I also got another rash that I don't know what the hell it was after the psoriasis on my elbows and knees. The second rash was basically like a very red rash my neck and my chest area were very red there were no plaques or bumps it was just redness bright redness and some itching and stinging and I got that in the folds of my arms my neck my underarms and a little bit on my bottom. As the plaques from the psoriasis or at least what I think was psoriasis on my elbows and knees went away the other rash started to go away to on my chest but started to spread from my bottom to my private area. The next thing I know my testicles were swollen to the size of grapefruits and extremely dry like they were dehydrated or something dry dry with a white dead dry skin on top. They swallowed up so bad they started to split from the dryness of the skin and I went to a dermatologist who cannot figure out what it was and did not take a biopsy or anything. All they did was have me take down my pants and show them all the the skin irritations I had on my body and about four different people came in to look at my rash on my ball sack which was embarrassing. Since then the testicles went back down to regular size but now the skin on my testicles is slightly stretched from the swelling but the testicles are back to normal. Unfortunately I have eczema on the inside of the folds of my legs now next to my testicles and I think it's starting to spread onto my testicles again but this time it's more looking like psoriasis real dry plaques and patches. It comes around and lasts for about a week and then it goes away slightly and then comes back again. If I put hot water on it when I'm in the shower it itches severely so much so it makes your teeth chatter. I have no idea what the hell is wrong with me I hope it's not cancer or some other crazy shit but I've been too dermatologists they gave me some cortisone cream and a steroid it did not work and I've had this shit for 6 months and I'm miserable a couple weeks out of every month when this shit comes back especially in cold weather

I'm thinking I have psoriasis and eczema at the same time. I also found a lump in my neck about 3 months ago I'm waiting for a doctor's appointment but I don't have any signs of not being able to swallow or anything other than a little bit of throbbing pain once in awhile on the same side that that lump is on. In fact there's two lumps one feels more like a softer ball that can move around the other one feels more like a stationary lump and that's the one I'm worried about. The reason I made the doctor's appointment is because I'm concerned maybe the rash and the lump are connected and also I'm starting to worry because of a little bit of throbbing pain I'm getting in it and because it's also starting to get me dizzy once in awhile wish me luck people at least gets his teenage years😢

Hello Dr. Hannah, Can drinking Tahitian Noni Juice fully cure, heal, or recover from Psoriasis and Eczema? Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you 🙏👍🙂
@drhannahkopelman
@drhannahkopelman 4 ай бұрын
I want to emphasize that while Tahitian Noni Juice has been touted for various health benefits, there is no scientific evidence to support the idea that it can fully cure, heal, or recover someone from psoriasis or eczema. Psoriasis and eczema are chronic inflammatory skin conditions that typically require a combination of treatments, including topical medications, lifestyle changes, and sometimes systemic therapies, depending on the severity. I understand that people are often searching for natural remedies, but it’s important to be cautious with such claims. Noni juice may have some anti-inflammatory properties due to its antioxidant content, which could potentially offer mild relief for some individuals, but it should not be considered a standalone treatment.

Yes, you can have eczema without the intense itch that’s typically associated with it. Eczema often presents as red, inflamed skin, but the severity of symptoms can vary from person to person. While itching is one of the most common symptoms, some individuals may experience only the redness and inflammation without the itch. It’s important to note that even if the itching isn’t present, the underlying inflammation still needs to be managed to prevent the condition from worsening.

This still didn't help me sadly. I've been dealing with an extremely painful and horrible scaling on my hands/ fingers. It could still be either or. My normal eczema creams aren't clearing it up either. I started off with hydrocortisone .5% then 1% then added polysporne to try to help it heal faster. I went to using 2 different betaderm creams and nothing is helping. It's been getting worse and I've been dealing with this for over 2 months now.

I just noticed recently that on my chin there's a itchy round shape and after itching there's a scale on top of it and after that it looks white or a lighter shade than my skin. My doc told me to use mometasone furate 0.1 solution and tacrolimus furate solution on top of it. I have heard mometasone furate thins the skin so is it safe to use or I should stop using it?
@drhannahkopelman
@drhannahkopelman Ай бұрын
It sounds like your doctor is addressing a skin condition that might involve inflammation, such as eczema, a fungal infection, or another dermatologic issue. Mometasone furoate is a steroid and can be effective for reducing inflammation and itching, but you are correct that prolonged use, especially on thinner areas like the face, can potentially lead to side effects like skin thinning.

The condition you're describing sounds like it could be folliculitis, which is an inflammation of the hair follicles that can appear as red bumps or pimples under the skin, including in the genital area.
