I think one message in the film could be that the mom had lived a full life with rich memories of her home land. Like the crumbling home and the goat that once bare milk, the mom accepted her fate. The son wasn't ready to lose his elderly mom and wanted desperately to take her with him. There wasn't more for her to see beyond her home. She treasures her memories and just wanted to cherish the time she had left with her son. The stone signifies stories from her past of a home she loved and belonged. This is why she carried it with her until the end. Very well designed film that took me along the emotional journey with each character.

I moved back to my hometown and took care of my mother until she transcended, and helped my father who lived 4 miles away as they had divorced many years before. My father died first. I did whatever I could for him too. My mother died 15 yrs later. I always thought I'd have a windfall and build a new home along a river as we both liked rivers a lot, plus have a riverside studio for her to work on her writing and drawings. We looked at used small pontoon boats, and I talked of us going on the rivers and lakes around us. She would smile as we dreamed. I said that on this very big lake I would have a very simple kind of tarp sail and go with the wind then motor our way back. The windfall of money never happened, and out of a couple of pontoon possibilities both were in too bad of condition. It all never happened. It's nice to dream but did not let it overcome us. We also were happy and lived for the beauty of the present moment, each day, and did a lot of fun things. There were difficult days, but we perservered. She was my best friend ever. It was hard for me to see this beautiful animation story, but it is a great story. Thanks FABW!

@@rangolimukherji2043 Thank you Rangoli for your kindness! I keep birthday cards and other cards she gave me with special messages on my apartment wall for positive affirmations. Three times we went through the western states of the USA and she loved it. She didn't like desert type of environs in Arizona, just some places, so it wasn't always "perfect". We had fun and I sold my piano music on the way, but not so it dominated the trips. She loved the mountains and once in a while would say, "Don't you wish we had a U-haul trailer behind us?" U-haul is a popular company many rent their trailers from when they are moving. I know I must remove the inspiring cards from my walls some day as really the positive affirmations should really come from within. It's just hard to let go, yet she is with me so I don't need to think that way. THANKS!

Obviously I have absolutely no knowledge of your poor mum's circumstances but here's a thing. It's possible she was in the throes of severe post-partum depression - yes, it can manifest years down the line - in which case, she may have been so irrationally fearful that she wasn't good enough as a mother that she chose to leave you in the physical world and live instead in your heart as a tiny diamond - guiding and loving you in a way that could never be 'wrong'. In that way, her love for you has been extravagant and beyond understanding and something only you could ever know. Please, allow yourself to be at peace. (I hope I haven't offended you in any way.)

I have kids now, and I see my wife's love to them, that I can tell: if you feel grief, your mother would feel 10 times griefer than yours for what she did, so there should be something beyond her, so Dennis, be peace and love yourself.

Such a nice story opened to many interpretations! Keep your children strong as they will loose you before you loose them! The best gift to your mother is that she can reliably depend on you and that you can keep going once she passed away! She was a nice mother!

😢 reminds me of my situation exactly as I have discovered this student reel. I love my mama. I've sacraficed alot for her existance. I've been on a long journey of life as a U.S. Combat Veteran which I've returned back to America long ago. The failure to transition appropriately still lingers. My grandfather the continent in which my grandfather was from seems like a great upheval as in regards to embarking upon once again. Germany, and I am worried especialy if she leaves me while just finally accomplishing my return. Lord forbid! 😭

So sad. My mom passed away this year and I bought and delivered food. We spent a lot of time together. One day, I found her dead. She was old but I wish she had lived a few more years. She used to say that just dying one day is a good death. She was very wise and she was right. I miss you, mom.

I miss my dad who battled cancer, and I was fortunate to be beside him in his last moments. One of my brothers was killed by ISIS, which was an enormous loss. Then, two years later, I lost my second brother to cancer as well. It broke my heart into a million pieces. You don't truly appreciate your family's blessings until you lose them. Take care of your parents and your family, everyone; they are our treasures.

wow! Road to success is hard. She was clinging on to that lonely rotten house, if she had only seen the place behind the mountain. Some old ideas cannot be changed. His mother was old. She wanted only to stay where she was used to, and perhaps to die there. If you aren't old, you cannot understand her. The "success"? is it truly a goal? Life has more shadows and depths you may imagine, my friends. Searching for the best, or searching for the truest? I think that the creator of this would only invite to some meditation about it, not to suggest a specific idea. However, searching for the light seems to be a natural hope in all us ... which type of light depends on our spirit, I think. Namaste. Thanks to all persons that made up this moving video. God bless you.
