The song is nice but not correct per scripture. Jesus is God manifested in the flesh when he died he didn’t die to gain what he already had. As little as it seems we shouldn’t twist the word in order to make a beautiful song. I no longer follow the upc road but the music is good in general so I come to listen. Matter of fact I’m non religious but I know good music when I hear it!!

It states he was slain to gain power, wisdom etc. He already had it according to scripture. He didn’t gain anything when he died is my point. All he gained in my opinion was the human experience of living and dying which was part of the point of the story.
