Patachitra is a traditional cloth-based art form. The village of Naya in Pingla, West Midnapore. The village known as the "Village of the scroll painters". The village is home to 255 Patachitra painters, or "Patuas", who paint stories on cloth scrolls using natural colors.
Pingla Patachitra Mela 2024-2025 will be held from 27 December to 3 January 2024-2025. The fair will feature various cultural events, including music, dance, and drama performances, as well as workshops on painting, sculpture, and handicrafts.
