Love how far South American rugby has come along. Historically Uruguay have always been a rugby nation, and it's great to see them rightfully taking their place in world rugby. Uruguay total thunder. Great to see fresh new teams ripping into the big teams. You have my vote. Also I would dispute the try by France (1:44 - 1:56) - it is not clearly shown on this highlight, but from the angle of the camera, that was a knock forward, but the whistle has blown and the refs have the last say. But for me, Uruguay was playing with hart and love. Great show Uruguay, you can get better and be a force to be recon with in the future. Respect from South Africa

They're all close to the tier 1 teams. World Rugby has to do something about it and stop privileging the top teams. Just add Chile and Uruguay to the Rugby Championship, they f*cking deserve it.

Otherwise the World Cup will be the only competition where they show their potential. That's unfair, you can see that's only a matter of lack of experience and not of talent. France chose to rest the main players and this team did not perform well, the players did not mesh and were heavily, rightfully, penalized as opposed to a dedicated and valiant team ready for a well-prepared fight. Lopsided victories in group stage mean nothing if a team goes home in QF at the first sign of real opposition (yes I am talking about Ireland, the greatest WC underachiever considering their talent and potential). Uruguay could finish third and get an early WC ticket for next tournament. A worthy reward for a job well-done.

@@danielvelazcoolivera8807 es complicado que pumas pase, recien LA SEMANA PASADA A 3 DIAS DEL MATCH CON INGLATERRA a nuestro querido y malisimo dt cheika empezo a practicar MANEJO DE PELOTA Y SCRUM QUE ESO SE HACE DESDE LOS M16 A PRIMERA, pone mal las posiciones, montoya se hace el malo y es el peor que jugo, mallia hace un kilombo y echan al pobre curry, santiago carrera que fue a chocar a uno que ni tenia la pelota, los backs se ponen neerviosos, toman malas decisiones, kremer no rompio un tackle, chocobares era EL FAVORITO DE LOS NUEVOS e hizo menos que contepomi en el 2011, todo para atras hermano uruguayo, les deseamos suerte y ojala y pasen la fase, asi festejamos con LOS TEROS

I've loved watching Uruguay and the spirit of how they play from watching them in 2015. Even then they were a great watch but the improvement has been phenomenal. I know this was probably not France's first XV but with some better set piece play this game would have been even closer, and Uruguay may well have won it. Not convinced by the disallowed try - I felt the same about their disallowed try against Austral;a in 2019!

You left out the French yellow card and the Uruguay try that was disallowed. Those were big parts of the story. Uruguay gave the French fits, and France had quite a lot of help from the officials. Los Teros can be proud of that effort. A couple of knock ons and a charged down kick made all the difference.
