US Air Force Rescues Sick 12-Year-Old Boy From Cruise

A Massachusetts mom is grateful to the pilots and crew who saved her son on a cruise ship. Aiden Parker and his family were enjoying the cruise when he was stricken with a life-threatening perforated intestine. The U.S. Air Force scrambled two choppers from a base in Florida and flew nearly 400 miles across the ocean. The rescue operation required three midair refuelings before the choppers landed in North Carolina. Parker was rushed to the hospital. Inside Edition’s Les Trent has more.

Hey I don’t think calling for help is hard work, unlike whah the US Air Force had to do, they did most of the planning, flying, had to refuel more than once. So don’t tell people that the us Air Force weren’t the ones doing most of the hard working… not to say the ship didn’t need to work hard either but I surely believe the military had more to think about and do in such a short amount of time.

I'm active duty Air Force. This is a warming video, it really is. However, to all of the people who will say "he will join the Air Force," no he won't. He won't be able to. I was almost denied entry because of a thumb injury I had when I was 3 years old, and I had to spend a good month or so collecting all of the paperwork from (then 20 years ago - 2022) showing that I was in fact "able bodied." Thankfully I did not require a waiver, and my recruiter even tried her best to get me in as well. I have a friend from Security Forces technical training who was kicked out after our SF graduation because of an eye problem. Dude was a distinguished student and top performer and all. (He's now a cop down in Florida.) Now, imagine when this kid tries to go join the Air Force. And with our new medical system for recruitment, everyone is getting denied for something. This kid should pray for a waiver when he grows up and if he decides to join, His PULHES score will not be all 1's across the board. I'm not saying this to be mean or to put us down, but I have personally seen people get rejected for ridiculous things.

Yup. I joined the Marine Corps in 2002 after graduation. I like many of my classmates joined after 9/11. We lived just outside NYC so it was deeply personal to a lot of us that we serve. I got blood clots in my leg during basic training. They kicked me out. I was devastated but now I work in healthcare so I get to serve in a different way. I just hope he MAKES a full recovery with a perforated bowel. That’s no joke. Mom didn’t sound like he was doing great. Just better than he was. Stay strong buddy. You got this!

Exactly this, it's a significant training mission for those airforce crews. You get aerial refueling, the pilots get time behind the stick, and the I'm guessing PJ's get to practice the evacuation portion of going down to the ship and bringing someone back up.
