Ahh...the "violence" sequence of Zabriskies Point. It turned out great for them(antonnioni), that they chose this band to do the Soundtrack of the movie. Best thing in the movie is the Soundtrack. Rick Wright, sail away on waves of peace, wherever you are

So fortunate that the directory of Zabriski Point foolishly omitted this music from his movie and its soundtrack, so that 'Us And Them' could later grace Dark Side of the Moon. Waters later said it was odd that it took Pink Floyd a couple years to realize they needed to advance this music into a full song.

@@Oh_I_Will With David Gilmour, Rick Wright, and Dick Parry, we're talking about men who were "mates since middle school" according to Gilmour. Sure, he was their studio and touring saxaphonist, but as a friend I can see him dropping in at the studio or their homes to practice, develop new material, or just "jam."

Why do people do this with Pink Floyd? I see it a lot. John Lennon was not a great guitarist, neither was Harrison...but see: Beatles. Yes, Genesis ,ELP, etc may be some of the most talented bands ever, but what the Floyd did, for whatever reason, still resonates in a way they don't. All four members will admit they are not virtuosos, just guys who taught themselves to play and made amazing music.
