Kid...I appreciate the enthusiasm. Look Im not going to dump on you but take the jump wings off those DCUs. You didnt earn them. Not being harsh but those do mean something to alot of vets, they are something to be earned not purchased and worn as a costume. That said just go earn some of your own, by all means. I grew up looking up to the Vietnam generation. Wore my step-dads old field jacket around, surplus shop jungle boots. But always felt like a pretender so I signed the dotted line. Sure I was scrawny, weak and wasnt sure I could do it. I enlisted because we got sucker punched on 9/11 and it was stand for something or just embrace a what if existance. So put in the hard work, got knocked down a few times, injued a more than few. Refused to quit. I tell you standing on Honor Hill at Ft Benning and being awarded my cross rifles was a defining moment in my life. Changed my entire trajectory. Went on to serve with the 506th Air Assault Inf Bn one of the most storied regiments in the Army and had a career spanning 16 years when I finally medically retired with a lifetime pension. Used the GI Bill to earn a degree from TCU and married the girl I obsessed over from HS that was WAY out of my league when I was there. All you need is heart and it appears you got it. But start beefing up the cardio anyway. Wont sugar coat it. Basic sucks, especially Infantry OSUT. (You want Infantry, trust me, Grunts get ALL the play.) Nothing worth while is easy, that term of service is worth more than any degree, trade school, or university of hard knocks could ever offer. PS If you get to MEPs and they ask you anything remotely disqualifying, just say NO, theyre not going to check. Good luck to you, seem like a good kid. Out.

Yo dude Thanks for the tips and telling me this man and telling me this incredible and amazing story i was actually going to take the patches and everything off the jacket so i wouldn’t disrespect the military branches and thank you for serving our country all wars are bad and we including me appreciate the people who fight and sometimes die for our freedoms and thank you for all the kind words i unfortunately well somewhat fortunately can’t join the military because of my heart condition sadly but ill still continue my career path somewhere else and possibly be in a relationship and get married just like you i am indeed a good person and will continue to be one oh and your father must be super proud of what you have done for the united states and your family too thanks for being so generous you have a good week/weekend! I love this kit! It looks really good for my standards😅 I'm currently working on an 80s/90s era army kit for airsoft and just for fun. I picked up a Alice belt and mag pouch from my local surplus store just today and I'm enjoying doing research on other gear. It's great to find like minded people doing the same stuff I like! Great vid👍👍

If you can't get a woodland Interceptor vest, maybe just try getting a woodland M81 load-bearing vest, and an OD green LC-2 pistol belt with 2 OD green ALICE 1-quart canteen pouches clipped to the back of it. In the 3rd Infantry Division at least, that's actually what we had with us when we deployed in 2003, in addition to the woodland Interceptor vests. When we wore our PASGT helmet with a cloth camo cover and a cat-eye band, our LBV by itself with no body armor, and our M40 mask stowed in its carrier, we called it 'Marne Standard'. It would still be a period-accurate uniform -- even without the Interceptor vest -- and maybe also within financial reach.

Looks pretty good , to add authenticity minus the IBA, I know you said you could not find one. You could add a rhino mount to your Kevlar and a helmet band. Rhino mount is a metal bracket that attaches on the front of the kevlar to mount NODS to and helmet band is an elastic strap that goes around the Kevlar helmet has cat eyes on the back and two small patches that have Last name and Battle roster number.

Get your self a helmet cover band, they’re cheap af, also get yourself an nvg baseplate. If I were you I’d look for a woodland camo FLC(fighting load carrier) if you can’t find a woodland IBA. You could also go for a LBV(load bearing vest). For the gloves get nomex flight gloves, sheep skin. They might be a bit pricey.
