President Joe Biden is not going to run to be re-elected as president of the United States, and has said he wants Vice-President Kamala Harris to replace him.
He's not alone - lots of other big figures in their party, the Democrats, have also said they back Kamala Harris to be their candidate.
A survey by the Associated Press said Ms Harris had received the support of more than the 1,976 delegates needed to win the nomination in the first round of voting.
Ms Harris said she was "proud" to have secured "broad support" and looked forward to formally accepting the nomination.
It's not official yet though - the party will have to vote on whether they want her as their candidate.
This could possibly at happen in August at a big meeting called a convention.
It will be a very big deal if she's chosen, but why is that, and who is Kamala Harris?
