You can’t turn a fighter into a ground attack plane you need a cockpit like the A10 with a titanium bathtub engine high & to the rear oof the wing 2 engines for redundancy to keep the wart hog in the air! If it ain’t broke upgrade it !

Nothing seems to fit the role the A-10 fills. None of the current fighters have the loiter capability. None of them have the capacity to take a major and continue flying. The B-52 has been in service since the 1950s and through updates and upgrades remains a strong and viable aircraft. The same could be done with the A-10. Those that want to dump the A-10 want something sexier in my opinion. The A-10 is the old faithful pickup truck. It isn't a sexy sports car but it is lot more useful than the sports car will ever be.

I served in the USAF 83-87, and was always with the A-10s ( Myrtle Beach AB and Suwon AB) .... Best close ground support aircraft ever.

My uninformed view for warfighting stating from Day 0 in denied area operations (on Day 0) is this, growing steadily: Day 0--1/2 F35s, F22s and persistent drones Days 2-3 F15 EXs FPV drones Days 3-4+ F15s Upgraded A10s Attack helos

OMG, the replacement will probably cost more to build, maintain etc...and the current A10 is probably already on other countries shopping list, once their sold off as surplus....lots of places want them. The US recently gave the Philippines several....and they want more! Imagine Philippines pilots, using the Burt....gun, on Xis junk ships ...😂🎉

Without one engine Like it should its ground strike plane that must také some beating as i said it has armor in cocpit plus bullet proove glass for pilot and whole structure is strong enough to také small arms fire up to 23mm auto cannon but that doesnt mean its flying tank samé Like plane russia háve simalar su 25 and sú 39 which is just upgrade over old sú 25 i dont say anything about plane been bad just coment literally how is made that damage engines protoshoped cuz its has nôt that thicc armor around engines Like there is not armor at all just at some real photos or documents how is A 10 build or just go to museum there is whole A 10 and you see that engines are exposed and they can bé damaget.
