US history proves it ‘doesn’t care’ about civilian deaths in Gaza

Independent journalist and author Antony Loewenstein says the US and other Western governments aren’t concerned with civilian deaths in Gaza given their own horrific record, and that only pressure from civil societies can pull the handbrake on Israel.
Loewenstein was based in East Jerusalem from 2016 to 2020 and published a number of books including recently ‘The Palestine Laboratory’ about Israeli testing of weapons on Gaza’s population.

There is an even greater irony. As Turkiye has said, Hamas is not a terrorist organisation but one of resistance then the potential could arise where the Israelis attack Turkiye and it as a member of NATO calls upon the U.S. amongst others to its aide. The US would then be on both sides - in case you think it is not already. A point on the quagmire- Vangelis said in a rare interview that it would be so much better if man focused on creating beauty rather than chaos and the upheaval of wars. But then as he observed there is more to be gained in the latter.

I'm a Norwegian agnostic so l have no skin in the game but the simple theological fact is that both the Bible and Torah preach a whole _lot_ of genocidal bloodshed, although those are not the usually quoted bits, while it is the case that the Quaran does not preach violence other than what is absolutely necessary for survival. I didn't know this until recently and frankly I'm a bit shocked. Although l guess l shouldn't be so surprised since I've been living an an Arab country the last few years.
