@m3mn0nYT8 ай бұрын
No. Poverty is bred by a lack of investment in poor communities, not corruption. China is one of the most corrupt countries in the world and has a corruption index fairly close to South Africa, but significantly low levels of poverty and a strong economy because it’s invested significantly in its poor. It’s a lie that corruption destroys a country and largely deflects from other systemic issues. Corruption is a product of capitalism as the private sector seeks to capture state coffers - whatever “corruption” you think poverty entertains, it’s fairly minimal to the scale bred by Capitalist interests. Ban private ownership of resources, the wolves will not come near them.

Smith government was under FULL INTERNATIONAL sanctions with even Trade sanctions and people were well fed with good hospitals, clinics, good sanitation and and good roads. What an excuse the sanctions were. Now let's see the new excuses, what they will be.

Sanctions prevented investments into the country. This has contributed to the economic decline of Zimbabwe because clearly President Obama specifically told investors in a meeting ( which I personally observed), that they were not to invest in Zimbabwe under the conditions of ZIDERA sanctions instituted by the American government. Americans, in general do not care about human right abuses in African countries, but they care about how whites are treated in the developing world. In Zimbabwe, the land acquisition was the driving motive behind the sanctions implemented by both the European Union and USA. Do not be deceived by those who cry corruption without proper understanding of the issues. Of course corruption is everywhere, even in developed countries, but those who do evil use it as a stick to beat the poor.
