At the end of my time in Iraq the AF was giving out bronze stars to drone operators there was such a freaking uproar they had to stop it . I was a contractor in Iraq ( outside the wire ) for 54 months & then 18 months in Afghanistan where I was badly injured when a RPG hit me . That’s the only thing I got anything for the Defense Dept medal of freedom lol . That and 5 bucks gets you a subway sandwich.
