At the time he was a royal artillery commander with rank of major in British army. 😎In the twin series, Major Charles comments that he had to get clearance to be able to go to a Korean army base camp. I watched this video when it first came out and just thought how different Jayden is when talking to his mum. He’s usually the quiet one in the group but with his mom, because he felt safe, he just stared yapping. I love it!

You missed two episodes before the boys went to boot camp. The first Josh and Ollie gave them a huge treat to stay in a luxury hotel/spa place and they got to eat korean bbq and then the next was them meeting two actual Korean Navy/special ops type celebs who put them through like a basic fitness test and helped answer their questions about bootcamp. Oh and I believe that was the same episode the boys got their hair cut in preparation for the bootcamp too.

The mum and son that are most emotional, he always talks so well about his mother and called her all the time when they were in Korea last year. In the episode they got told they were going back to Korea he said that him and his mum trust him more to be able to manage on his own but he still calls her every day from uni to make sure SHE is okey. They are super sweet and have another episode just then eating and talking after the first trip. And since they aren’t sleeping and doing lots outside of their comfort zone, tears are always close by!

that's why on the show survivor people get so emotional. it's experiencing things outside your comfort zone and especially with these boys where they don't even understand the language and they get a bit of comfort from home. it shows they have a loving support system and that's always something wholesome to watch.

That was one of the most wholesome videos from Korean Englishman. I have one question for you Roscoe: do you think bootcamp training should be compulsory for all citizens when finishing high school?? Cause its actually kinda compulsory in South Korea and few other countries around the world if I'm correct. Plus since that its compulsory you don't have to stay in the military once you've completed the training, you can go back school such as college or university, go for a job or even do a gap year around the world. I personally think that it should be made compulsory for all young people but with some initiative bonuses when you complete the training such as all your intuition paid for your time in college or university or both, a lump sum payment to help jumpstart your first purchase of a house or car or maybe a business or even use it to fund your gap year etc (just the name a few ideas)
@ThisRoscoe
@ThisRoscoe Ай бұрын
I do believe that. In one of these videos, I stated that I think it would be good for all citizens to go through 2 years Military, and then maybe a year of retail/customer service, a year of food service... and really I think that because there are so few people who actually show respect towards those roles-- which are vital to our current functions. I think if people had been in those roles before, they'd treat others going through it MUCH differently.

We have a national service year in Nigeria. You do 3 weeks of sort of boot camp style training that is run/overseen by the Military, then you start the year of service. The whole year is sort of like community service? So, used to be a lot of getting posted to teach in schools... These days, people get posted to companies of their choice. You also get called up to random states around the country, and have a few days from call up to arriving at your post... This is where boot camp happens and then you spend the rest of the year. You go to the local govt once a week for your CDS and also to report. Oh lastly, you get a monthly allowance. I know they have a similar practice in Ghana, but your thoughts on making things of this nature mandatory have gotten me curious as to what other countries do.

Ahhh Roscoe! You’ve missed some good fun! Josh and Ollie started doing vids with these guys when they were in high school. They were taken to S. Korea as a high graduation gift~ That series was so much fun! There's another series with two British Rappers that was really fantastic. And then there are the food tours… like when they took Chef Z (a friend and big time chef to celebrities…and Royals) … and gave him a tour of the absolute best food S.Korea has to offer~ Really love rewatching this with you, and getting your perspective on the military aspect ~ 👍🏻

I'm ALL for your mandatory post-high school education plan because I have the utmost respect for people in all those situations and will know I will never understand the military, but I have NEVER looked down on or been rude to anyone in those fields because they work hard and also are human beings who deserve respect.

In an early episode Josh and Bobby surprised his mother and took her to a Korean restaurant in London. She is so funny, and so honestly grateful for what the Guys have done for Bobby. There are so many episodes, from taking food to the high school for random boys to eat, that’s how it all started, to the first trip to Korea, the honest surprise and joy, to Armand and Max going again and experiencing working, Uni, gaming, and of course eating and then of course this series, and a new one started today, it’s just so much fun and enjoyable to watch. Natural reactions and excitement, perfect. Bon Voyage and In the Soop, English style.😂😂😂😂

I love your comment about going through 2 years of more schooling, 2 military, 2 customer service. I definitely think 2 additional years of schooling to help adjust to adult life would be amazing for youth. Also after working customer service for 7 years - yeah, I think everyone would benefit from that and would be a lot nicer to service workers.

The majority of people on this planet will always struggle with not having contact with a loved ones for not a very long time. I cried the first time talking to my parents after a first day in university. It’s the struggle of being away from comfort, and not having a friendly voice to talk to. I call my mom a couple times a day. I’d give anything to talk to my dad one more time. It hurts the soul to be away from loved ones.

There is a lot to be said for everyone understanding what it is like to be on the bottom rung. It stops some people looking 'up to' or 'down on' others because of their background. It also stops people falling off the ladder completely. It shouldn't be necessary, but... I think it might be. But, it would have to apply to ALL of us.

I think I saw somewhere that in reality, the men who serve their time in the military aren't allowed to call home or have visitations after boot camp. Once they enter the actual military, it's 0 contact. I know we get former Korean vets here, so someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I agree with the mandatory military years, especially if the high schooler never went through any sports in high school. it'll probably give them grit and be a part of the team. idk about the additional schooling. what would the additional schooling include? as for customer service, I feel as if practically everyone eventually goes into customer service.

korea have a macho culture, like the usa of course, the rules are not as hard rules as in the usa one of them is not to cry. however, i cried more during the first phone call with my parents than during the chemical training. but i didn't know at the time that this was the beginning of my military career. i didn't cry during my military service after that, maybe it was because i cried once? military life didn't feel like the cliff i felt at training camp. and i gained confidence in everything after i was discharged. i am the driver of an IFV(K-21). who tempered in the hellish armored reconnaissance battalion? that's me who was watching porn and drinking cola in IFV? that's me as a side note, i once participated in a joint operation with the US army, and the personal equipment of the US army was beautiful. someday,if i go to the usa? i definitely use the sexyfckinggodemnit fullaccessories tacticalM4A1
