@@mikewithers299 Yeah I care a lot about spreading good word. This whole channel started by me seeing someone in the shorts with an airsoft sight on a real ar15! I want to make good content for everyone and hopefully answer a lot of questions people have. I don’t claim to know everything but, what I do know I want to pass that on and try to give back to the 2A community. 🤙🏽

Great video. Very helpful. I personally appreciate you actually showing up close the buffer spring notch that holds the buffer spring, up close how the bolt carrier group comes apart, etc. Im about to attempt my first cleaning on a AR platform and i want to make sure i can get it apart and back together. The extra detail on putting the charging handle and BCG back together was good to. Making sure that charging handle clicks in. Some people try to show you but they don't get up close and show the fine details. The only thing i may have missed was exactly what the extractor looks like and keeping it to the right side of tge bolt. Do you mean if you're looking at the top of the BCG with the forward part of the bolt that goes into the rifle first to the right? I guess you'd want to see the extractor closest to the ejection side where the dust cover is.

I also didn't know you could function check the BCG in your hand like that when you put it back together.
@Mrbodangles247

Thanks man I appreciate all of that! And glad you found the video useful and helpful! The best way I could describe the extractor, is look at your bolt and you’ll see a plate on it roughly 2” long. Here’s a link to a a really good picture. Hopefully this will help as well. images.app.goo.gl/qKtBAmWQdtbbGQo4A

@@brandonchandler9032 Yeah I think it’s probably just a habit I got from being taught and doing it so much when I was in The Marines, not sure if a lot of people think to check it like that.

@Mrbodangles247 Yeah I saw the extractor. Thanks for the picture it helps. Idk about you but I'm very visual I have to see it for it to make sense and come together. I bet you did get pretty good at it in the marines you probably spent a lot of time doing it. Its like many other mechanical devices it needs lubrication just like engines, and other things i always look to lube areas where you have slides and moving parts and where you have metal touching metal. I appreciate your service. I actually almost went in the corps myself when young but decided not to but wish I had. I'm 39 now so I'm too old. My aunt was in the marines and my father is a 28 year retired officer from the navy. If I could go back and change things I'd of joined the marines and become a officer. Oh well though we gotta move on with what we got and from where we're at now though. Keep making these informative videos you're good at it. When I break down the AR I'll probably pull this video up and watch with you as I do it for the first time. We got many different brands of ARs but I'd imagine it's pretty much the same for all of them. I have a Daniel defense m4a1 ris 2, a knights armament sr-15 mod 2, a nemo arms omen recon in 300 win mag and I was thinking of a AR-10 .308 battle carbine like a Daniel defense dd5v3, a LMT, or knights armament sr-25 if I can find one. I'd imagine AR-15 or AR-10 it's pretty similar. Those knights armaments are really hard to come by. I was able to get a sr-15 but it took a while. I think LMTs are a little easier to find but still scarce. Those knights armaments though are almost damn near impossible to find and if you do they're really expensive.

@@Mrbodangles247 I see the rifle in this video has that front sight post or A2 sight. I thought about a Daniel defense m4a1 quad rail upper with that sight post. Are those front sight posts any good, or do they help? It's something I think used to be more common on older ARs or M4 style rifles.

I have been watching alot of the cleaning/oiling videos, I find yours seems to be the closest to the correct way of doing things. I see all these videos with aggressive cleaning methods on the BCG where apparently you shouldn't be doing because it will mess up the function of the gun eventually (there is a video about it on youtube). Then I also found videos where they only lube up "certain areas" of the BCG or certain areas of the rifle, and not other areas. Very confusing even though this is suppose to be a straight forward process.

Hmmmm Eotech 512, off brand pic hand guard, But I did run a OG grip pod. If that's a M&P 15 1st gen that's pretty much what my first AR looked like.

Yeah this is my uncles ar15 which really isn’t a bad setup. I told him he should switch out the foregrip for something different, but at the end of the day what’s comfortable for him might not be comfortable for me or someone else and it’s his gun. I always have loved quad rails as well, some people don’t but to each their own! 🤣
