My Grandson just graduated Marines boot camp! Im so proud of him! All his life since he was about 5 yrs old, he would say When I grow up,Im going to be a football player and then a soldier! We always supported him but thought maybe things would change as he grew up.. Well, they did not. When he got into middle school, he played football so well that when he graduated to High School, he quickly became a star line backer.Two weeks after his graduation from HS, he told us that he had enlisted with the Marines! He graduated from boot camp 2 mos ago. I couldn't be more proud of my beautiful Grandson!

@christianmichalsky28262 жыл бұрын
@@cowpoke6479 Good question! Yes and no. He served as a trombone player in the Marine Corp marching band, while in the Vietnam War era. As far as combat training goes, I would assume that they had to teach the MOS Musicians some combat training, if it were absolutely necessary, but, from what I know, he didn't serve in combat. However, my great grandfather (Air Force WWII vet) was a tail gunner on one of the fighter planes that was meant to assassinate Hirohito. But, according to history: 1. They missed because Hirohito didn't die until the late 1980s. 2. My great grandfather, and the rest of the crew, also didn't die, because he passed in 2003, and, if he did, then I wouldn't be typing this to you lol.

Our pledge and motto too. We're always ready do or die! Aye, Coast Guard, We fight for you! United States Airforce: Off we go into the wild blue yonder, Climbing high into the sun. Here they come zooming to meet our thunder, At'em boys! give'er the gun! Down we dive, spouting our flame from under, Off with one terrible roar! We live in fame or go down in flame. For nothing can stop the U.S. Airforce! United States Marine Corps: From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of tripoli; we will fight our country's battles in the air, on land, and sea. First to fight for right and freedom, and to keep our honor clean. We are proud to claim the title of United States Marine!

But my grandmother took me, my aunt my 2 little cousins came and so did my half uncle my grabdma recorded. They all got me s bunch of flowers. I couldn’t hold it in much longer, I bursted into tears.
