This was awesome! When I saw "various naval aircraft" listed on the schedule, I was hoping for the growlers but didn't expect the f-35 to join! It was awesome to see in person!

The legacy flights were great there! The P-51 was full throttle and the f-35 and f-18 were like: 'We can't go any slower!'

No, that Skyraider, a flyable example of the EA-1F ELECTRIC SPAD, is empty in the aft cockpit area.

It was actually a USMC F-35C but I didn't know they were operating them also. I guess it is to replace the F/A-18A+/Cs they are losing.

No it’s a navy F-35C. On the side of the aircraft as it taxis by it says it’s from VFA-125 which is a navy squadron. Also USMC Squadrons are designated by VMFA-xxx

It's crazy when you consider the single P&W F135 engine in the F-35 makes as much thrust as the combined two GE F414 engines of the Super Hornet. Yet another characteristic of the Super Hornet that makes it a lackluster fighter.........but I digress........

Each has a role and the F-35 is not a replacement for the Rhino. It is a better sensor platform, the Rhino carries a lot more and will beat the F-35 in a dogfight. The F-35 is never supposed to come close enough to need to fight using BFM.
