Crackle cookies are actually goated. They are basically a midpoint between cookie and brownie but make it so easy to get the perfect cookie consistency. Firm but not hard exterior with fluffy but not undercooked interior.

As a former baker/bakery employee this list was especially fun. Proper shortbread, brown butter chocolate chip, and snickerdoodle are goated. Macarons, which are very difficult and tedious to make, done well are a blank canvas for the baker’s creativity to shine through. I’ve had vanilla habanero, Himalayan pink salt caramel, goji berry lime, the possibilities are endless. And when executed properly the texture is otherworldly, like a crispy starburst that slowly changes states of matter from gas to liquid to solid, definitely S tier which is why people are willing to pay $5 a god damn pop for a cookie the size of an Oreo.

This tier list lost all credibility with those Oreo rankings. Don’t get me wrong I’m not a madman. I understand there’s such a thing as too much of a cream filling. For instance, mega stuff is a classic example of humanity failing to ask if we SHOULD do something even though we can. But double stuf? Ohh. Once you go double stuf you can’t go back. Double stuf literally usurps the throne of the original Oreo and makes even that excellent cookie seem like crusty dirty in comparison. Most of this tier list is alright. But you must reverse the positions of original Oreo and double stuf. The extra cream of double stuf makes for more milk absorption and there is still a satisfying crunch mixed with the soft sweet goodness of an Oreo filling.
