US Senate hearings looking at Boeing safety | BBC News

Boeing is under scrutiny over a series of incidents, including when a door blew out of a 737 Max plane shortly after take-off.
Two competing hearings were held in Congress on Wednesday to discuss safety issues on Boeing planes.
Engineer Sam Salehpour accused Boeing of taking shortcuts in the construction of its 787 and 777 jets.
He claimed he was "threatened with termination" after raising concerns with bosses.
But Boeing said the claims were "inaccurate" and added it was confident its planes were safe.

The FAA is complacent in this and applying no pressure. Read the first 2 chapters of "vulture capitalism" and it paints a 'greed first, wellfare last' culture at its core, scary stuff. And the model 'Dreamliner' is new, based off the 737. Sure the 737 has been flying for decades, but the 787 dreamliner is a different beast, built recently, and with a lot of shortcuts to meet tight deadlines. FAA is sleeping on the wheel.
