Most people do business with friends, the friendlier the relationship, the more trade will result, In an effort to contain China, US levies numerous sanctions on China, particular high end chips export. Stopping grain imports from US is one area China shows that it will not take things lying down. .

The scary part for US is that China will buy from Brazil at a lower price. The other place where it will hurt is that John Deere and their no right to repair will piss off Brazilian farmers. Chinese can build farm equipment cheaper than Deere and will not fool around with right to repair because they have better competition in their machinery markets.

The US farm industry is a controlled cost because of machine cost, fertilizer, farm cost if not legacy, insurance etc. The Chicago commodities board and everything else cost. The third world buys Chinese equipment at quarter cost or third cost with no insurance just cheap fertilizer and labour, so operating cost is way down. The American bread basket is gone with food plenty now.

Mr. Bennett, the US agroindustry has a major overcapacity problem after the PRC decided to implement their delete America policy directive. Expect MAJOR disruptions in the coming months and years in the US agroindustry, starting with an acceleration of the number of bankrupt farmers, followed by a massive ripple throughout the whole supply chain of the industry: fertilizer production, farm machinery, storage rental, etc... As the FT stated: this year alone the impact on American business will be significant with an expected loss of 190 Billion USD.
