I am the widow of LT USNR Dr. John Hudson, the medical officer deployed with 1/8 to Beirut in 1983 who was KIA. He was 28; I was 27 with his 8 month old son. Thank you for giving us a part of your news broadcast today… it’s a “forgotten war” that we, represented by every name on that wall, have had a never ending war to overcome for 40 years. Thank you for the honor and respect of going to the wall and interviewing the 3 veterans at the memorial.

God bless you ma’am and very sad and sorry for the death of your husband. I have listened to entire recording your husband made…only a week or so before the bombing. I am younger than your husband, but many of those LCPLs or PFCs were my age, 19 at the time. I found one boy (I use that term purposefully) who was born on same day as me….so many lives cut short. Your personal fortitude and perseverance to keep going after John’s death, contribute to the community and raise your son to be a good man is a legacy to John himself. God bless you.

I appreciate this "40th Anniversary" reflection of our military servicemen who sacrificed their lives. Sometimes it's easy to forget the value in representing our country unless there is someone who reminds us through tragedy or conflict. The older I get brings such a reality of being humbled and alive because others gave their lives for us to be free.

My Father was stationed there in 1983 and was a survivor of this horrible massacre. He’s only talked about it with me a few times, but it’s certainly a moment that my Pops never forgets.

My brother was smoking the 241 murdered while they slept on the morning of Oct23 1983 ..I had just received a letter telling me he was on rotation off ship to barracks ! I miss him so so bad we were just 16mo apart in age he had just turned 26 in Sept. 😪 my heart thoughts and prayers go out to all those who lost a loved one on that horrific day.. Semper Fi Peacekeepers NEVER FORGOTTEN🇺🇸💕🙏🏻

I hope people remember who is responsible for the killing of 241 U.S. Marines on 10-23-1983 in Beirut, Lebanon. My mom was the wife to a disabled veteran (my dad-Pacific Theater) WW II, mother to 2 Vietnam combat veterans and when this happened i still remember my mom crying for all those lost and for the families and how lucky I was to have my brothers come home alive from their service. Veterans: all gave some, some gave all! My Hearth felt condolences to the families who lost loved ones .

Ronald Reagan. The worst acts of terrorisim against America happened under Reagan regime. Beirut, Pan Am 103 to name a few. The gassing of the Kurds by his buddy Saddam March-1988. After criticizing the Soviets for Korean Air 007, Sept 3, 1983. He pins a medal on the Captain of the USS Vincennes for shooting down the Iranian airliner in their own territorial waters. Aug-1988. That's what probably led to Lockerbie. Dec-21-1988. Of course his war crimes in Central America. Iran-Contra, arming freedom lovers in Afghanistan. 4 trillion for Star Wars which really helped us on 9/11/01.

I was there with 2nd Battalion 6th Marines weapons Co. I was relieved by 1/8 and headed home. I was just about to go on leave when the attack happened so I volunteered to go back with 2/8. One of the first things I did was go to the site. Words cannot express how I felt especially knowing I lived in that building and was there the night the Embassy was hit. God Bless all that served and especially those who gave all. Semper Fi!

My brother in law Bert Daniel Corcoran was in that attack and died for his injuries in a hospital in Germany instead of being brought to a closer one. He was only 19 years young and joined at 16. He is not forgotten by his family.

In 1990,the company I worked for printed and shipped "By Way Of Deception ". The book was author ed by Victor Ovstrovsky,a former MOSSAD case officer. It was a tell all on MOSSAD operations. One chapter dealt with the Marine Beruit bombing. ISRAEL went to court to block the publication and distribution of this book. We had US Marshals Service in our building watching as we furiously packed up orders for book store chains . One of our company's owners Tom Sack, retired Army colonel was walking around, encouraging us at packing and bulk shipping lines. Every once in a while he would turn and glare at the marshals. I didn't know then what the fuss was about. Ohwell, seems ISRAELI'S 😂WERE USING THE SAME GARAGE TO BUILD SMUGGLING TRUCKS,AS THE TRUCK THAT WOULD TAKE 241 AMERICAN LIVES. Oh yeah, the "By way of deception" title came from the first part of the MOSSAD motto. It finishes " thou shalt/wilt wage war"
