Very true, however UK police are unlikely to get randomly shot. When UK cops stop a car they will often be in front of, very rare in the US because they have their backs to the vehicle.

I mean. I've talked my way out of hundreds of fights. Whereas if I had gone in there shouting and raging like us cops do. I reckon most of them would have ended up in a scrap. Who wants that.? Calm is always the best and first way to go. .. until calm cannot go any further.

@@robbeaman3542 There are a number of different policing departments and units deployed in the UK to deal with specific areas of policing & obviously their individual approaches differ considerably from Neighbourhood Police eg Urgent Response, Firearm Support Units, Counter Terrorism Units & Drug Squads. When every person in the US is potentially carrying a firearm, yelling "get the F down" is entirely appropriate imho

I think one of the reasons for those absurd overreactions in the States is that Americans just tend to take _themselves_ far too seriously (the guns don't help, of course). Maybe that's also why their 'comedy shows' tend to be CRAP. Well - there _could_ be a link there!😀

The UK has a standard policy of police training aimed at de-escalation, though as the last clip shows, they are quick to react if any sense of real danger to the public is apparent. US police training varies, not only between states but also between counties and Sheriff Departments, some of which have almost no training before being let loose on the public.

Neal, a day ago I left a comment about London police arresting a prominent peace advocate (Jewish Israeli historian Professor Haim Bresheeth) under the UK's draconian terr**rism law. The elderly gentleman merely gave a public speech opposing the g**cide in Gasza (which is fully backed by the US and UK). The police said that he was being arrested for "hate speech." The video was viral on social media. I know that your channel is focused on UK society. Hopefully you will cover the video and discuss its ramifications.

@Nobby764 күн бұрын
There is a very simple reason why there is such a difference in attitudes between US and UK cops. US cops are trained as warriors going to war against the evils of the public. UK police are trained as helpers of the public, they are there to help and assist us. The one with the kid asking the cops if they wanna see his guns. He very clearly pointed to his arm muscles and said these guns. Then the cop turned around and said "I dont know if you are joking or not.." ?? REALLY you cant tell, he has been talking about his guns then pointed at his arms and said THESE GUNS and you still can't tell if he was fooling around or not. Are you really that stupid?
