Croatian President Franjo Tudjman is out of hospital in the United States and will soon be on his way home to Croatia.
Appearing cheerful but much thinner, President Tudjman was joined by his wife, Ankica, on his visit to the Croatian Embassy Tuesday to promote his book "Horrors of War".
This is the first appearance by President Tudjman since he was hospitalised in Washington for an undisclosed ailment.
It has been rumoured Tudjman is ill with stomach cancer.
But there were no obvious signs of such a serious illness as the President arrived at the Croatian embassy to be greeted by friends and diplomats.
He was there to discuss the release of his book, "Horrors of War" -- which has been published for the first time in English.
Tudjman told ambassadors and the media that he had waited seven years for this version of the book.
"Horrors of War," which goes into detail about death camps, has been available in many countries for several years now, including Croatia and Germany.
SOUNDBITE: (Serbo-Croat)
"I am very pleased to say once again in front of you, as well as many those who read it, the book includes some very well known professors from the Jewish community. They also concluded that there is nothing anti-jewish. There is nothing along the lines of anti-semitism in this book."

Q: (English) How are the results of your hospital stay?
