Fast forward to to the WWC 2019 Julie Johnston - Ertz and Crystal Dunn take home the official trophy. So glad that FIFA maintain these youth tournament memories. It's been so good to watch the athletes advance.

Funny to see some of the stars of today: Julie Johnston, Crystal Dunn, Kealia Ohai, Morgan Brian and Sam Mewis for the USA, Jennifer Maroszan, Leonie Maier, Melanie Leupolz for Germany.

I would not be surprised if a WWC or Olympic final or maybe even a third place match is between the US and Germany. sometime within the next two cycles.

And most soccer fans don't even know there is U-20 world Cup. Check out Nigeria's men's U-20 teams. I can't remember what years but my oh my they had some talent.

Looking at the rosters of the top women's soccer team, and the age of their players, the USA is by far in the best shape for years to come. Lauren Holiday is a big loss to retirement at the prime of her career, but apart from that, the USA is just reloading! I hope Solo has one more World Cup in her. She's going to be the toughest to replace eventually.

OMG! I kept wondering where Julie Ertz came from. I just now realized she was Johnston back in the the last Olympics and she used to be a defender. I swear these ladies should keep the same jersey names even if their legal name changes. Saves us all the confusion. All the same interesting to know only she and Crystal Dunn came up from the U-20s. Same story with most national teams...only a few come up through the ranks. I guess keeping the youth together is part of the success secret of Messi, Xavi, Busquets and Iniesta. This is why I believe playing for the national team is way harder.

Kealia Ohai deserves a call up.
@stephenwibowo62518 жыл бұрын
And when that call-up came she left that camp with the fastest 1st career NT goal by scoring 48 sec into her Int. debut.
@noeluhli92247 жыл бұрын
As a forward? When they already have Morgan, Press, Pugh, Dunn, and Carli Lloyd who's basically playing forward as a No. 10? She did get call ups with Lynn williams, but it's hard to find a real spot though.

I was watching the medal ceremony and when USA went to take pictures and dancing (their music they pick was playing) the germany team in the (middle of usa celebration ) just walk out. Mind you japan stay for whole thing okay but germany no they just left and person who started the leave train was there leader Dzsenifer Maroszan. If they had won usa wouldn't just leave in the middle of their celebration, that would be disrespectful and unsportsmanlike . Some of the germany player's being disrespectful . In order to have respect you have to show other respect to the other team. I get there upset but show some respect. USA was respectfully to the other team. What can say that germany for ya.
