I recall having left USJA cause I never saw a benefit to push membership. Other than the annual fee and the annual voting , I never heard anything from the organization.

Shintaro, what changes a dojo could do to attract more people into judo classes? I feel like randori is a little difficult for most people to get into as opposed to Jiu Jitsu.

Millions of americans run Marathon and nobody ask to make a Marathon shorter Judo as j Kano presented it was the best martial Art in its time whith a few changes Judo will be on the top again and Bagger than mma Usa take the lead it can be done

You're absolutely right, Judo needs more athleticism and explosiveness than Jiu Jitsu, that's why Jiu Jitsu is very effective for what it's meant for, but that doesn't mean Judo is not as effective. Many fights end on the ground, but every fight starts standing.

Saw an estimate that the American Judo System contract is 700k to 1 million. I'm not entirely convinced by many things in this particular interview Nicole says, but that seems steep for something most USA Judo members will likely not use. A shame we didn't vet our act together yet nationally considering the 2028 Olympic opportunity where we'll have a full host nation team. Never mind having three national federations for some reason.

Maybe we need a new Judo association. The current one seems failed.

IJF Judo is too complicated to introduce and too frightening for nervous parents to market💥IJF JUDO is only plausible in countries that have been doing Judo for decades

The U.S. has been doing Judo for decades. Teddy Roosevelt was a brown belt. I don't know any Judo coaches that are lecturing their kids about IJF rules. Judo is hard regardless of the ruleset.

46:07 disagree. kayla, marti, and travis have proven winning medals does nothing. Even if you get that short term boost in funding you need a recreational base to grow judo. It's too late for 2028 just give it up, changes should've been done a decade ago. Plan for the long term and change your approach and target demographic to grow the pie. This is just repeating the same thing we've been doing over and over again and focusing on competition while we lose adult members to recreational BJJ and kids to wrestling.
