Some corrections: (a) US Embassies are also opened in many countries in East Asia (Japan, HK, Taiwan), SE Asia, and Oceania (Australia, NZ) in addition to many European countries. Hi Kiran. This has happened for a lot of people. Still not clear about the reasons, it could due to reduced capacity of the embassy to handle all the pending applications. Keep checking for the availability of slots & book the earliest one you get.

Hi. So aging out of the children will not be a problem, since under the proclamation it states that if the child is aging out due to the wait then they will be exempt from the ban. However embassies in India have not started processing of the family visas yet, so thats the problem. I would suggest writing to the embassy and checking about it.

Yes. Many lawyers in the US expect a verdict in the immigration ban lawsuit early next week. A group of lawyers have filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration challenging the ban on the issuance of certain green card and non-immigrant visas till the end of this year. So we can expect all this to pan out soon.

Hi Arun. As of now embassies are accepting applications for renewal of J visas. Fresh visa applications haven't started yet. We can expect them to resume by October(tentative). As told by your agent, once the embassies reopen, you can schedule your interview.

Hi. What visa are you looking for? If it's tourist visa, then there is no ban on it.

@@romanbalaji2444 For work visa, you will have to find a job first and then get your employer to sponsor you. As per the latest trump proclamation, new H1b and L1 visas have been put on hold till Dec 2020.
