I wouldn't speak too soon. They've looked dreadful so far -- especially their offense. This team has been lacking a true dominant/terminator-class hitter for many years now. The Skinner sisters were a glimmer of hope, and definitely played better this match.

7:56 This ace by Parsons was not a "communication ace". If u look at the head-on view replay, this ball has MASSIVE early, and then late movement. It changes direction twice! Perfect no-spin floater. That's about as nasty as a float serve gets.

I wonder why they don't move Obogu to an outside-hitter role, or use her more out of the backrow? She has that Gabi-like physique, athleticism, and leaping ability, but is several inches taller. And yet, I don't think she's tall enough to be a middle-blocker. The USA could really use more dynamic jumper/hitters in their offense... I would put Obagu in a position to take more swings.
