That is just so awesome where each of the trumpet players reach over and manipulate the keys to the person next to them trumpets. I've never seen any other bands do such a thing. Yes, I've seen where some drum lines play the other person's drum next to them but blowing a trumpet while someone else presses the keys? This why I say that the Kyoto Tachibana SHS Marching Band is in a league of their own. I may not be getting all the music terminology correct for I've never played any kind the instrument myself (unless you count a radio which have a hard time tuning in at times), but I know awesome when I see it. They're not bragging or boasting about their selves this why they have fans to do it for them. LOL They're truly phenomenal no other marching bands come close to them. Their hard work and dedication is evident.

Jay, you said it all Their work ethic is incredible tough and some don’t always make, but I believe that is very rare, as they support each other to the enth degree 🙏

I don't know who could possibly give this a thumbs down, but obviously they are not music lovers. I have seen many school concerts, between my school years and my children's as well, and I have never seen any high school that comes close to giving the calibre of concert that these young performers do. Between their proficiency as musicians and the beautiful dancing that they perform, all while not missing a beat or a step is simply amazing. I've watched countless videos of KTSHSB and am constantly blown away by how truly great they all are. I am a HUGE fan!

I'm with you. I can't understand how anyone can give these phenomenal musicians/kids a thumbs down. They're probably jealous because they can't even get a sound out of doorbell.

Always some DUMMY wants to "make his mark". Behold the thumbs down of a few IDIOTS from Mom's basement..
For those interested in the songs performed in this video after the D-M says 1-2 ; UP-2-3-4, and the rest of the band comes running out doing the "Tachibana Tension Yell", they are: 1. I Can't Turn You Loose - Otis Redding 2. Soul-Finder - Bar-Kays (Where they do the Charleston) 3. In The Mood - Glen Miller (Tachibana Style) 4. I Need To Be In Love - The Carpenters - The center Clarinet Soloist is none other than the D-M herself. 5. Cantina - Star Wars 6. Sing, Sing, Sing (With a Swing!) - Louis Prima (Tachibana Style) There is a longer version of this performance, and the last part is a sit down performance. Near the end they perform "I Need to be In Love" again, and several members of the band go out into the audience and have an emotional goodbye to their sponsors. At the conclusion of the song and they all stand, one can clearly see the D-M crying.

Great band - their SING SING SING is just spectacular
To watch the talent and professionalism that these young men and women display are remarkable and makes it hard to believe that they are just High School Students. Which makes it even more spectacular. When I was in high school the band could not play on this type of level.
POWER PERFORMANCE. ECSTATIC AND FULL OF ENERGY. A MUST SEE EVENT IN ANAHEIM HS

I love the way that they started this performance, with four tubas, four sousaphones, and two saxophones, and then the rest of the band come running out on stage with the "Tachibana Tension Yell" and then go immediately into the song from the Blues Brothers Movie. Still trying to figure out what they song was that they were doing the Charleston too. I do not know if anyone noticed, but during the clarinet solo, after the rendition of 'In the Mood', that the clarinet player in the middle was the Drum Majorette (D-M).

A friend of mine several days ago asked me why, in this particular performance that there were only seven flag girls, and not the normal eight as he had seen in other performances. That is because, and I do not know if anyone caught it or not. But at the start of the 2017/2018 Rose Bowl Parade and even at the events held at the Rose Bowl Stadium, that one of the flag girls was wearing a knee brace, and she vanished several blocks after the parade started. She was suffering from extreme knee and back pains. Later, when the band is doing their sit-down performance at JFK Performing Arts Center, one can see the D-M, who is playing clarinet, stand and address members of the band. She is asking that one flag girl if she is alright to continue playing her instrument, and do not feel embarrassed, if she leaves. But, she remains and finshes with the sit down performance. Another reason that they make great ambassadors wherever they travel.
Kyoto Tachibana Green band has been one of the strongest contestants in the band competitions in Japan for more than 55 years. They wear orange uniforms and are called the "Orange Devils" by the other participants because they always win the contests. Their performances are extraordinary and fun.

If one watches very closely, you will see the D-M leave her spot right before the band finishes 'In the Mood' to get her Clarinet to perform in the solo performance. After the performance she leaves to retrieve her baton and assume her position again. If one views the entire video of their performance, after the first performance of Sing! Sing! Sing!, and the stage is being sit up for their sit down performance, the band members go out into the audience to thank their sponsors who opened their doors to them during their chaotic stay. In the sit down performance the D-M is in the 1st chair of the second row of the Clarinet section. The last song that they perform is Sing! Sing! Sing!, and she stands and gives advice and directions to the band members.

Ron was a great leader and they voted her into the role by all the band members. From what I understand, she left the school for college and I don’t believe she plays, what I would call professionally. She did appear at the launch of the Ovils in giving her support. Somebody said she looked different with new hair style and makeup 😱😂
