This is the “Bolt affect” because bolt was so god dam fast he pushed all the other athletes to train even harder to catch him. This is the only plausible explanation to why the times of all the sprinters were much faster 10-15 years ago. No other sport on the planet follows this logic with people getting worse as time goes on

@@neikomccalla2623 to say he didn’t break a sweat just shows you have limited knowledge of the sport. He looks relax but that man is trying hard in this race, not sure what one you’re watching😂. And it’s easy to say “yeah if he had better speed endurance and a better start he would’ve ran faster”. That’s obvious and applies to everyone. He literally did the first 60m in 6.31 seconds which is quicker than the WR so to criticise his start here is a bit disingenuous

As Michael Johnson after he broke the 200m WR (again) in 2009, setting the time of 19:19. 'The man that will break the two records (100 & 200) hasn't been born yet (as of 2009)'. In 2024, the year of the Olympics, no one has run even 15th of a second close to those times yet .

The God of Sprints!! You heard what the man said? Transcended!!! That what he did that’s what his legacy is! If I was a upcoming sprinter why would I not wanna be compared to the GOAT? Then he came back and broke the record in the 200m and 4x100m relay for the 2nd time in a year, has anyone done that ever? HELL NAH! BOLT, JORDON,PELE,ALI AND SERENA,no names bigger in sports every other big names in sports is secondary!!!!!

Being witness to all of this as a kid at the time I felt proud but didn’t understand the historical scope of it all. Now I look back, I get it. Jamaica and the track and field world have met up for years throughout generations of athletes and eras. It’s almost like the world meeting up once a year. To see your country on top at these events especially the Olympics that’s every 4 years it’s absolutely beautiful, because there was a time when track and field was all we had and the only thing that connects us, teach us about different flags and countries. Jamaica and the British empire was a tough place to grow up In for me in the 90s but we have such intriguing, intense and beautiful history and stories. Track and field made me love and appreciate the world and all the different people. It’s just unfortunate so many people cannot see how beautiful the human race is and how more beautiful it is watching and observing it throughout the decades.

Bolt's dominance is so convincing because he holds the fastest time- 9.58, second fastest time- 9.63 and JOINT 3rd fastest time- 9.69 in the history of the 100m. That leaves him out of every debate! 🔥

Two additional things I wish we got out of Bolt's career; more attempts at running close to sub 19s in the 200m and a full season attempt in an off-championship year like 2010 going after the 400 WR especially after running 30.97 in his sole attempt at the 300m which was the sea level WR at the time following MJ's 30.85 at altitude in Pretoria, SA in 2000!

I honestly believe he could have gone sub 19 in his 200m world record he was tired since he broke the 100m World record on the same day and in the last 50m of the 200m world record he slowed down due to fatigue and it was in to a headwind
@AllInTheGame01

@@mrnur1910 Yes I think if he'd ever got to attack the 200m without rounds of both the 100/200m in his legs and with a good +1.5m/s tailwind, an 18.9x time was possible!

Looking back at Bolts career dont you think about the absolute failure by world athletics to capitalise on the opportunity to grow the sport of athletics. The sports greatest ever star came along at a time where global exposure was never greater. I think World Aths really missed a trick here. The reality is athletics is no more popular now than before Bolts time. The only aspect of athletics that is increasing in popularity is road running.

He would have to lose a lot of weight & give up a load of power to change his body to run 400m.... Usain Bolt was 15st & 6'5" - that's a lot of weight to carry around a 400m track & he'd likely have to sacrifice 100m as a result
