Rocky, you created memories that will never be forgotten by your son. I'm with him: "I love Scotland!" The trade show: I'm glad you included this in the video. What impressed me the most is how you cared about quality and authenticity. Makes me proud to own kilts made by USA Kilts!

The large shield in Stirling Castle, with the Lion Rampant on it ( 3.31), is the Royal Banner of Scotland, not England. I know it can be a bit confusing. As the laddie says, the unicorn is a symbol of Scotland, this is true, and it is also used in Scottish heraldry. But the Lion Rampant is generally used as the official Scottish banner. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Scotland. There are a lot more are even more striking, in other parts of Scotland. Like on the islands. A bit more off the usual tourist routes though. Haste ye back.

The video didn't capture the Lion that Kelly was discussing with Liam (hence the overlay image of the English lion). We know the rampant lion is a symbol of Scotland. :-)

I'm so excited that I'm going to Scotland and Ireland this coming fall & am so looking forward to seeing where my relatives set sail from to the colonies in 1654. I loved this video Rocky, especially the excitement and respect exhibited by young Liam, good lad, you have a lot to be proud of there. As a member of Clan MacNaughten, I too will feel like Kelly as I visit our homeland, Castles and culture of my ancestors, I know I won't want to leave. I especially want to visit DUNDERAVE CASTLE on the shore of Loch Fyne. Completed in 1596 by John our 12th Chief and inscribed with the MacNaughten Clan Motto over the front door: "Behold the end. Be not wiser than the highest. I hope in God." Sound advice, and a timeless exhortation to all the Clan.

Unfortunately, Dunderave Castle is a private home and is not open to the public. There isn’t a convenient place to stop to view the outside of the castle as it is flanked on one side by Loch Fyne and on the other by a small woodland which is fenced off from the busy A83. U usually try to catch a glimpse of it as I pass on the bus (last time was Wednesday). It is a spectacular tower house which was rebuilt by a businessman and at one point used to be a posh hotel. Keep going West in the A83 and a few miles further on from Dunderave you will come to Inveraray which is a beautiful Georgian planned town next to the Duke of Argyll’s place ‘Inveraray castle’ (which you can visit) and I recommend the George Hotel for food and 18th century atmosphere. I hope you enjoy your time in Argyll.

Looks like a great time was had by all (apart from the lost luggage obviously), You should have popped up to Lewis to see the Callanish Stones or the Ring of Brodgar in the Orkney's though.

Did this near exact tour ten years ago. Bucket list as my grandfather was born and raised just west of Edinburgh, my son was stationed with the Air Force at Mildenhall and I enjoy my Scotch. Rocky, you must get to Islay for 1. Islay Woolen Mill 2. All of the distillery tastings and 3. the wonderful people we met along the way.

Your Stirling Castle experience was our Wallace Monument experience... Except you got a second shot at it. We didn't. We did see the castle, though. Beautiful day, beautiful castle!! And windy. Very windy.

20:00 4000 years old stone. Is that all? That's not so old. I mean it's quite old, but only about as old as Stone Henge. In Wales, as I'm sure in England, Ireland and Scotland too, we have 9000 year old structures. And definitely in Malta (and apparently in Turkey too) they have something older.

Such a great video! Thank you for this tour, Rocky. I wish to someday make it to Ireland and Scotland, to see the villages my ancestors came from. Hopefully someday.

What an amazing experience. My wife and I plan to go as soon as we can. My mom's ancestors came from Stirling and my dad's from Edinburgh. My wife's clan (Johnstone) were around the border with England until James I sent them to Ireland.

I share Rocky's thoughts about the effect of Outlander. At Culloden, the Fraser grave was roped off because of heavy traffic from Outlander fans. It was annoying and almost insulted. I hadn't seen Outlander yet, but it still hurts, even after watching it...
