Looks fun, but its not when the cameramen aren't there. Keep in mind these aren't hidden cameras, the Drills know they're on camera and the footage will be uploaded online to help recruit more gullible kids. They're obviously taking it easy on these recruits, and when the cameras aren't on they give the recruits the real 'Marine Boot Camp' experience, and its not fun and kids would want nothing to do with it.
@momus98984 ай бұрын
This is exactly how it is (minus the face masks). I was there: Platoon 1029, April 1992. No recruit goes into this thinking it will be "fun"; we know why we've joined. I've nothing but respect for my drill instructors, even to this day, as they had a job to do and I was a worthless recruit.

I wish they didn’t have boot camp videos posted online. It ruins the excitement and experience for all Marines. The biggest thrill and surprise I had was when we were introduced to the drill instructors for the first time. The senior is really nice and introduces the other 3. Once he’s done talking. The 3 DI’s under him thrash everyone and scare the living hell out of them. It’s great and priceless. First getting there is a little nerve wrecking and a reality check tho. The Marines was the biggest accomplishment of my life I hold very dear. Not the Bachelor degree I obtained. Not being a cop or becoming a detective later on. It was getting that eagle, globe, and anchor then experiencing the fleet, travelling for training, and deployment. If you are thinking about joining the Marines and are reading this, stop watching these videos and trust me that you’ll be making the best decision of your life signing up to be a US Marine. Once you are a Marine, u take that title to the grave.

Ehhh I wouldn’t say that. The point of boot camp is to break you out of civilian habits and to get you ready to work as a unit and get out of that “individual” mentality. I would say more kids need accountability for their actions and choices.
