Yep, very seldom will anyone with just a high school diploma qualify. You'd have to be a prodigy level musician for that to happen. Else, everyone else has a music theory collegiate degree, often graduate degrees, and are hardcore musicians. The entire pathways in the military are different for this.

I was looking for this type of comment. This is top notch and I was wondering myself, "who are they, other than already amazingly part of the army". Thank you for sharing this info. Growing up with polic/military family, play the piano myself, and finally in the tech industry, most in my family thought I am a softy for being part of the latter. This goes to show that the discipline and mindset of being a military family brought me far to be great at other things. Hope my family sees that they too can be good in everything else, and it does not take away their police/military spirit.

Not actually true. This isn't educational, nor is it for personal use, so it doesn't fall under the fair use clause of the Copyright Act. If you are using copyrighted material for monetary profit, it's just easier for a court to assign a dollar amount to the lawsuit, so lawyers and the courts are more likely to go forward with the suit. Even ignoring the obvious benefit the Army is getting for recruiting, you can sue for violation of copyright even if the violator has derived no benefit from your work. It's why Disney famously sues the absolute pants off of every day care and orphanage and hospital that paints Mickey Mouse on their walls. Even though they're not profiting from the use of the images.

In order to preserve their trademarks, Disney is very careful of their brand. The first reason being that it implies a partnership or endorsement between Disney and the other party. Because Disney can't actually control how that separate entity does business without owning them, they will typically sue or threaten legal action if their intellectual properties are not removed. Secondly, it is in their best interests to do this because it's how they preserve their trademark. Copyright infringement is not automatically enforced by any entity, and Disney has to continually renew their copyright by objecting to its violation. The statute of limitations has been changed on the public domain use of copyrighted material several times BECAUSE OF Disney and their legal hold over Mickey and friends. But thirdly, and most importantly, I think you missed the joke.

The interesting thing is that there is a process called condensation that limits the amount of particles that come out of an instrument. This process is the same as the condensation in the water cycle that produces rain. What happens is the particles that we breathe out are, hopefully, warm (if not, it means a. your are a reptilian like Mark Zuckerburg or b. You are an undead being). Since the instrument is cooler than the temperature of the particle, the particles will stick onto the cool instrument surface. When that condense, they will puddle up in the instrument. That is some instruments like the trombone and trumpet have spit valves. Other wind instruments just let the condensed liquid drip out of the instrument (mind me it is DISGUSTING 🤮). Also, just because a straw can be an instrument, an instrument is not a straw.

And then there are instruments like flutes where air is hardly blown into them at all, but rather over them to excite the air column within. The recorder has a short lead, maybe an inch or so, but I doubt enough condensation is occuring to provide any measurable reduction of aerosols.

The U.S. Army band has an electric guitar, and electric bass, AND a synth. Imagine being the electric guitarist for the U.S. Army. Gnarly!

Sadly, this is a US Army video, it's political by nature. In fact, it's so political that the whole video's vibes are off because while you got these guys playing dope tunes, they're in the same warband that's destabilised half the world for corporate capitalist profit motives. But re: the masks, if they didn't wear masks, the same goons would be in the comments saying "why aren't they wearing masks, don't masks work?". The masks are purely there for show, but it's better to make a show of having masks, than to give ammo to adamant anti-maskers.
