Grant Lindsey's (might be spelling it wrong) dangerous play call to me seems completely valid. It shouldn't take contact for there to be dangerous play if he keeps going for that disc then there would be definite contact. By pulling out it means nothing dangerous happens

I see what you are saying but I dare say Lindsey poaches off his coverage many a time in a game and does the same exact thing he is crying for the foul on. It was not a foul and looked like he just mishandled it and used the poach defender as an excuse to call a foul. You could call this foul every single time a defender poaches off his player and slaps the disc in front of you the cutter and claim you dropped it or stop cutting when you some them coming in.

MrPlasticSpoon, I totally agree with you. Lindsley saw the PoNY defender coming in from the side and pulled back, thus avoiding a possibly very bad collision. It's unfortunate that he bobbled the disc just before, but by then he probably already was more focused on avoiding the collision. In WFDF rules this was certainly a dangerous play. If not under USAUltimate rules, then USAU should really reconsider that rule if they don't want this beautiful game of ours to change into football little by little.

Well, if Mickle stays, PoNY's Offense ( together with Keegan, Kocher, Jagt, Garvey ) will be too strong for many elite teams. And now with this title their D-line(s) will have enough confidence to keep on playing this strongly, regardless if Beau ( or Ladomatos ) keeps playing for them. Remember that a guy like Babbitt also lives nearby. And now that Grant Lindsley and Jack Williams signed up with the New York AUDL team, they might (have) move(d) to NYC and possibly could play with PoNY as well. Those additions would make the team sheer invincible.

@@Rakkerrr With most of those players, and more, they went out in quarters this year, 2023, to Ring... Mickle was injured. Maybe that was it. But Garvey and Keegan and JW couldn't fill his shoes I guess.

They don't play by wfdf rules, pretty sure there are slight differences

Not a foul in my opinion. The defender poached off his player and yes the cutter heard the steps but he just bobbled it and dropped it.. They guy that called that foul probably does the same exact poach move 3 or 4 times a tournament on lesser teams and would toss a fit if they called it on him. The defender is entitled to go for the disc and he did not crash the guy so...

FGVuohi, yes, definitely. But .... they don't play under WFDF rules and there are still several slight differences with USAUltimate rules.

Seems like both teams could have been more aware about throwing into poaches in the end zone. PONY at 19:20 and Revolver at 31:50

PoNY absolutely destroyed Revolver's side-stack offense with poaches in a match earlier in the year. Looks like Revolver went to center-stack or horizontal for most of this match, but a simple formation change won't change much -- they needed more coordinated multi-player movements to pull poachers out of position, and they didn't really have that.

@@speedracer55 great point. Sounds like Revolver got away with their side stack offense for too long. Sounds so simple to defend yet they are the best team in terms of being at the top for so long, of the last 15 years...

Revolver: intensity, intensity, discipline. Multiple dangerous plays on a national stage and the coach says "our intensity is good." 1:00:00 WTF!?!?

I mean immediately after he says they are ignoring fundamentals. He isn't wrong, they were getting way too emotional in their play and they should've chilled out.

I think people should call it more often when a receiver bounces the disc back to himself they way that Pony player did on their 14th point. Revolver also needed to be calling some double teams on Pony. Some obvious travels, but overall it looks like Pony had Revolver's number this year and took it to them. Revolver need to drop some O and D players and look for new talent if they wish to compete with at least Pony or watch how other teams beat Pony as they were beat in pool play.
