I remember this book. Never got into it at the time, but, many years later, for my degree, I used 8086 MC to speed up my C++ routines that directly addressed the video memory. There wasn't too much difference except the larger registers.

I literally got my first taste of 6502 machine code using this book as a kid. My dad took the p out of me for even trying, but he’s never been interested in anything that didn’t have two wheels and an engine.

I own this book. At my peak (age 14) I wrote some machine code (decimal) for a Space Invaders clone I made on the Vic-20. The function was to move all the on screen invaders left or right as far as I can remember. Had sound, graphics and joystick control but was mainly written in BASIC. Sold the Vic-20 so the code is long gone. Would love to see how it stacked up years later. "Those were the days" LOL ...

Great stuff! as someone who spent literally hundreds of hours working on games in basic back in the day, learning machine code was a dream of mine. I spent a forture on books like this but with me being rather dim and incredibly slow to learn, I failed all the time. Sometimes not even getting past two chapters. I will watch this with interest. I don't believe I'll learn enough to use it (heck, even using AGD is beyond me it seems) but I'm still really interested and wish you the best of luck with it!

These books basically kicked off my interest in computer programming as a whole, and I didn't know who published the books until this video was recommended to me. Thank you!

Don’t worry about errors. Many hobbyists do this after their retirement and they are happy with every thought. Am currently building a 3 bit demo of Harvard architecture, is not going to change the world, but the process is highly satisfying 👍😊 Keep at it!

I have only just found this channel after watching lots of 'The Spectrum Show' by Paul Jenkinson. Had to like and subscribe as this will be interesting. Also watching all the AGD+ tutorials is going to keep me busy.
