This just looks like a fun drumline to be in with fun cadences too. And this video looks like what college should be all about. FUN!! And btw, this drumline could go anywhere!

My favorite, every year! Nice work. People who complain about young people should watch stuff like this.

Feels like it would sound better if they just cranked up the tuning for the snares and tenors. Seems really low to me

With them not being in uniform, but instead matching tshirts, that suggests that it's pretty warm there. The warmer the temps are, the easier it is for instruments to go out of tune.

@@jeffjackson4343 well yes but also I just think the tuning they had it at was low in general even before they had them out in the sun for hours, personal preference though

@@MostEnriching you would be surprised how fast drum heads go out of tune in heat. Most drum lines only replace them when they break or when certain events like holiday parades require new heads.

@@jeffjackson4343 I do summer band in south east Texas heat every year and obviously we have to tune them like every week or so, especially the tenors, but it’s never really been that huge of an issue for us to where it would sound as low as it does here. That’s just my experiences with heat and tuning though, definitely could be different for other lines. We haven’t tightened snare top heads yet but we’ve done bottoms once and they still sound pretty much like what we initially tuned them to. Mostly because we crank them really high to be able to hear everything we’re playing across big domed stadiums like the Alamodome in San Antonio.

@MostEnriching I've not been to those extremes that frequently but I have experienced tone change in drum heads when temperature changes. The band I was in didn't change drum heads unless it was dire, so that could be my situation also since older drum heads lose pitch quicker.

I wish I could understand what they're saying but otherwise flawless. So much fun to watch. Amazing how long they can go and still keep it interesting. 🫡

At around 1:08 are they saying "Oooooh yay?" Or "OK"? Or something else. Maybe I should just let it remain a mystery.
