Can't help but point out Navy has the number 1 SOS, losing badly to good teams doesn't make you a good team vicariously. In the hypothetical the video puts forward, a 3 loss Oregon isn't the feather in the cap of Georgia that they once were, and we all saw Tennessee last week. Personally, I think Georgia would be the team left out in that case, without a conference championship and a very recent loss.

The biggest issue with LSU resume vs USC is the fact bc of historical context Alabama ranked higher than they should be giving LSU resume a boost. Game Changer: Use Harold Perkins on Kickoff & Punt Returns? If LSU wins Texas A&M game and then beats number 1 Ga in the SEC Conference Championship -- LSU and Brian Kelly will have a National Championship within reach! LSU will be 2 games away from a National Championship! This is not next year, this is NOW. You don't get these chances everyday. Forget any consideration of next year! You have no guarantee of even being alive next year! All the focus must be on these two games and on the playoff. LSU must hold nothing back in the A&M Game and then the GA game. The games mean way more now instead of in a few years when you’ll have teams with 2-3 losses making the playoff and watering down the CFP. With the current CFP, you only get 1 mulligan game, not 2 or 3 which would be ludicrous.

@@TypicalBravesFan145 No, not really. In any league. Take the NFL for example. The 2011 Giants were in the playoffs with a 9-7 record playing in a terrible division, but they won the Super Bowl. The Patriots won Super Bowls despite being in the worst division. If the NFL put teams in the playoffs like the CFP committee, the Patriots would have never been a dynasty. You never know until you actually give a team a chance. Multiple chances actually. Also, I don't think the SEC is better competition. Most SEC teams lose to Big 10/Big 12 teams in bowl games, its just Bama/Georgia/2019 LSU and a few teams who have a good few years who make the conference look good. From top to bottom as far as depth of a conference, I would take the Big Ten or the Big 12 any day. Lets see if Vanderbilt can beat Iowa State or West Virginia.

There's a reason for SEC bias - 5 different teams have won 14 of the last 20 national championships, with multiple instances of two SEC teams actually playing in the finals. Every year you hear teams complaining because they have a similar record but get passed over by SEC teams, and there's good reason for that... because if any of those schools had to play a similar schedule as SEC schools, they wouldn't have that record and wouldn't be in the conversation in the first place. Fortunately, this will resolve itself, because LSU ain't beating Georgia in Atlanta next week, plain and simple.

Clemson has played nobody and has looked bad most of the year. Clemson is not that team this year and doesn’t deserve to be in. Sorry the ACC is really bad but that’s the way it goes. SEC bias is there for a reason. It’s not so much bias as it is reputation. The SEC has dominated college football for a while now and until somebody steps up and stops them there is always going to be the benefit of the doubt given to them.

@@brian2440 are you dumb? The problem is acting like it's the end all be all, and that the team never improves. The extended playoffs will finally end that dumb thought of training for good. If LSU wins out, they'll have wins over two top 6-7 teams, and their only losses will be to a likely top 15 9-3 FSU by 1 point and likely top 10 10-2 Tennessee. They'll also be the SEC champ which means way more than any other conference champ. Go and check out that strength of schedule and record after the SEC champ game, if we win, and see how it stacks up with every other top 5-6 team.

Just to back track, Bama lost by 3 points on the road vs a full strength Tennessee who is still 10-2. They committed like 15-16 penalties in that game. They lost in OT vs a 9-2 LSU on the road by 1 point. Using all that, ON A NEUTRAL FIELD WITH YOUR LIFE ON THE LINE, who would you say, CURRENTLY would beat Bama in a head to head, that is behind them in the rankings?

LSU has two losses. In my book, they are out. We cannot have a college football world where you can still make the playoff, no matter your record, just because you won the SEC. or you beat the best team in the SEC. If you've lost multiple times, you shouldn't be in consideration, period.

But they do raise a great point tho. While I do agree wholeheartedly that USC should be in the CFP if they win out and LSU somehow beats Georgia But the losses to FSU and Tennessee are going to haunt them regardless. This is a Catch 22 for the committee where they have to decide between a 1 loss USC who’s only loss was by one point against a ranked Utah, or a 2 loss LSU who lost to unranked FSU and got bodied by Tennessee who in turn got demolished by unranked South Carolina. Do they really want to put up with another CFP with 2 SEC teams, or do they want to put in the PAC-12 champion in their coach’s first year there. That’s what they have to decide. People are going to be mad either way.

I’m a UCLA fan and that loss was not fun to watch, but if UCLA - who isn’t a bad team - is the BEST team USC has beaten (and it wasn’t by much either), it’s not nearly the statement win as what a lot of other teams have, in terms of wanting to impress the CFP committee. Had they blown UCLA out, perhaps we’d be singing a different tune. USC isn’t going to face elite competition going forward (particularly when factoring in rankings), so unless they destroy their next two opponents (who will both be top-15 teams) combined with all sorts of chaos among the higher ranked teams, even with a strong 12-1 record, it might not be enough.

The big 12 is the best conference this year even said by espn’s stats and analytics. The last team in the big 12 Iowa state won at Iowa-the big 10 west champ and beat likely Mac champ 43-10. And has one of best defenses in country. 80% of teams are in bowl games while only playing 3 non conference games and EVEYONE PLAYS EVERYONE/unlike sec

They also have had the most players drafted, usually by a significant amount, for the last 16 yrs in a row. Stephen A: Do you see defense being playing in the Pac 12? SEC: Tennessee 36 South Carolina 63, Alabama 31 LSU 32, Alabama 49 Tennessee 52, Auburn 34 Ole Miss 48, LSU 45 Florida 35. There are more high scoring games in the SEC then there are low scoring games so I think thats a BS point to throw around these days its not all about having the best defense and no offense. You need a high powered offense and a stout defense overall but i don't see how LSU is in the top 5 just because they beat Bama which i don't even think is all that great of a win at the end of the day. Bama has had way to may close wins to teams like Texas, Texas A&M Ole Miss and who know maybe Auburn this week. I get it its Bama and Nick Saban (GOAT) but its not that much of a quality win as it would be for us (USC) against ND or Oregon or even UCLA. The SEC is telling us they are bias without straight up saying they are. I know the SEC is the toughest conference but the PAC 12 has half their teams in the top 25 and yet still no respect (Either way im happy we are leaving them) but still it's just sad to see

That's because defenses are hampered these days in college and pro ball. Georgia has a generational defense, but it's not very common these days. The point is, you still see better defense in the SEC than you do in the Pac 12 or Big 12.

LSU would have beaten the number 1 team UGA and the number 5 team Alabama. At some point a two loss team will get into the playoffs. The committee tries to prevent that from happening but there are far too many scenarios that could happen too prevent a two loss team at any point from entering the playoffs.

I don't see how Clemson is out of contention...Clemson beat NC State, Syracuse, and Wake Forest when all 3 of those teams were ranked and undefeated. They also beat a Florida State team who beat LSU. I get the loss to Notre Dame was bad but Notre Dame has proven to be a good team and they almost beat Ohio State at the beginning of the season. Mind you LSU got blown out just as bad by Tennessee, a Tennessee that just got blown out by South Carolina...And the ACC is a strong conference this year having 5 to 6 teams consistently in the top 25 throughout the season. Clemson should definitely still be in the running for a playoff spot.

Bama is ranked way to high and it’s boosting lsu. Bama’s best win is 24th ranked texas who they barely beat with a backup QB. If texas loses to tcu in big 12 title game they will be out of the top 25 where usc will have multiple wins over top 15 teams.
