You must not know USC history of national recruiting! They been a national recruiter since John Mckay got there in the 50's

@@arronfrazier7873 as an alum, I’m well versed in our history. Yes, we have recruited nationally through out our history, but up until recently, we’ve always had the belief of putting a fence around California and especially Southern California. Riley has yet shown no inclination to do that yet. During the CIF championship game between Mater Dei and John Bosco at the LA Coliseum this past November, Riley didn’t go to the game across the street from his office. In fact, I don’t think one USC coach went to see the game. You’re talking about the two premier high school football teams in the Nation, playing in your own back yard, and you won’t walk across the street. Look at Urban Myer’s interviews talking about trying to recruit in So Cal during the Carroll era, and he’s said he wouldn’t even bother to try to recruit So Cal when he was at Florida, because he knew he wasn’t going to get any players.

@@arronfrazier7873 I’m not argue about not recruiting other areas, but you need to make Southern California & California the 1st choice, not the 2nd or 3rd choice like what is going on right now. Right now Oregon is dominating California high school recruiting. Riley is a hell of a offensive coach, and we’ll see if he’s changed his stripes regarding defense, but if you ask any of the top high school coaches in Southern California, they’ll tell you that there seems to be a disinterest in making local recruiting the main priority by Riley.

Florida, no state income tax. Ohio, low taxes & no sales tax on food. California, highest taxes in the entire country, by far - especially high for those earning over $250,000 per year. Gotta believe this is having an impact on NIL, the athletes, as well as the donors.

Most of the NIL money goes to guys already on the roster and transfers. 1. Gibson and Terry are both from GA. Being close to home plays in recruiting. Especially within 2 hrs of campus. Way easier to unofficially visit. Also, home state rooting interest 2. Both have said development and track record matter. USC hasn't had a long string of great D-Line development/draft pick since the Pete Carroll era.
