I just use a Dickies leather belt that I got for christmas. It's a nice sturdy leather belt 1 7/8 inches wide with a traditional buckle, and it holds up well.

Cross breed belt. My grandfather invented the push down clamp type seat belt. He started flying at the end of WW1 in the Army Air Corps. The early days of aviation, 1920's, 1930's WW2, then retired from the Air Force 1954. In the early days he had to bail out of a couple of airplanes. One of those bailouts he had to yank the seat belt "hook" to get out of the airplane. The "hook" cut the end of his finger off! So, he got to work and came up with the clamp down buckle type. Him being in the government, he did not get a patent on the new belt buckle......... Not one damn penny.......... He also invented a popular gun sight, the large rectangular sight that has a crossbar on it. You can adjust the cross bar up or down to sight your gun. He had a lot to do with the development of air to ground radio communications. He was 103 and sharp as a tack when he died in 1999. Born in 1896 then live to 1999! Think of everything he saw come to the world.... Amazing man. He also lead some of the B-17 bombing raids on the Palermo oil refinery in Italy during WW2. He just didn't wake up one morning. Totally agree, it took 2 years fir me to come around on this idea. One thing I will inject is that thick isn’t always a must, but rigid/strong is. Rigidit can come from thickness, but when you look at the polymer reinforced belts from kore, it’s easier to see that strength can come through other methods.

I've spent a small fortune on these gimmick type gun belts and have over the years come to the conclusion that you can't beat a good ole' fashion leather gun belt. Yes a good leather gun belt can be expensive but I could have bought 3 or 4 of them by now after wasting my money on all the so called best gun belts ever. Leather is without a doubt the most comfortable fit you can get no matter how you carry. Either IWB or OWB.

Always wore just a regular leather belt. Brought a Crossbreed double leather that was renfroced . Wow what a difference. Much more comfortable my belt doesnt droop. Wouldn't have believed the belt would make that much of a difference

I've worn several different gun-belts that have all failed me. But for the last couple of years, I've been wearing a nexbelt Titan. And it's the best!! It's easy to use. The buckle is small enough to easily fit through your belt loops. It's rigid while being comfortable to wear. I will certainly buy another one, if this one ever wears out!

My first "gun belt" purchase was from Hanks Belts. It has a kydex core and is probably the most comfortable belt I've worn for the express purpose of carrying. I've tried others, namely a WeThePeople belt and found that after a full day it begins to bite into me on the leading edge. I had to use the magazine strap to cover up the biting edge in order to make it bearable. I still use it occasionally when I need to carry multiple items, but that's only when I go hunting. The Hanks Belt is still my best EDC belt. The combination leather/kydex core is perfect.

Been pistol packing for 50 years and wholeheartedly concur with this presentation. Would humbly add 2 points. The belt being heavy, trousers and pants must have proper belt loops to accommodate the thicker "pistol" belt to pass through. I used to buy suits and slacks from a police uniform supply retail store with an on premises tailor who understood the business, that the customers, cops and armed citizens required this accommodation of customizing the belt loops to use the correct belt. Ordinary dry cleaners and tailors will not understand and resist such alterations and resent that you are a gun carrier so don't go to them. Point 2, run the belt on the outside of outside the waistband holsters to tuck it in closer, so that the loop cutouts don't stretch to uselessness over time. The belt needs to be extra long to take on the sidearms and other stuff you will wear, in my case extra ammo holder, flashlight, multitool carriers, and sometimes a knife case, and law officers will have cuffs too. Have successfully worn full sized handguns with this philosophy of use for decades. Be safe and sound everyone.

After a lot of researching for a good quality carry belt I decided to try a Kore Essentials Tactical Belt. Love it, I have not worn any other belt since. I wear it everyday not just for carry. I know even own a leather Kore belt for when I dress up. Soon to order a third. I can’t believe the price is as low as it is compared to other quality belts. I also recommend that you check out their sunglasses with the magnets.

I have had good luck with ballistic nylon belts, though I still have a leather Cobra belt from more than 20 years ago when I went into the police academy. Proper pants used to come with an included nylon belt that I actually like; however over the years I’ve cracked 2 or 3 of their polycarbonate buckles which thankfully were never in a fight. I still like the nylon but have switched over to aluminum buckles when it counts. There is something to be said for the infinite adjustability that the nylon provides over the old school holes in traditional leather; that said leather breaths and when you buy quality can age quite well. One side note make sure to buy a belt that will work for your holster or holsters of choice, that is outside the waistband tend to have a particular belt height that is recommended or required. Get what works for you then try drawing and holstering, with a safe gun, before you count on it to save your life.

Kore for me for 4 years now. I ccw full size pistols. M&P 2.0 10mm, Ruger SR 1911 10mm. Whether open or CCW, Kore works and is comfortable for me. If I have to dress up, Kore dress belt with a glock 29 or Glock 23.

I’ve got a few great belts. Daltech steel core, Bigfoot steel core, vedder polymer core, relentless tactical double tap, safari land battle belt. All of them will hold up just about anything you have for your edc

I wear a pretty standard thick/stiff 1& 7/8 inch wide leather belt. Carrying a gun should also be "comfortable" otherwise you will not carry consistantly. I am familiar with what Clint Smith says, and love his videos to death, but the reality is, most of us are not in the business of being heavily armed. We are not working in the gun or law enforcement community, and our choices are more of a compromise. We are looking to break contact with an assailant not arrest him. Very few of us are carrying a full size duty weapon (most of us are carrying a j-frame .38, a .380. ACP, or a compact 9mm) but you are correct that everyone needs a good gun belt regardless of what size gun you are carrying. It makes carrying a gun more secure and more comforting and more "comfortable".

@@maxwellmortimermontoure7274 That's cool, but honestly, that's more gun than most are willing to carry as an EDC. I carry my Glock 22 when I am forced to travel to bigger cities or high crime areas. But, around my town (a medium sized city in SC with a low crime rate) I carry a 5 shot .357 magnum j-frame. It's enough gun to resolve 99% of problems that can be resolved with a handgun and I can carry it comfortably regardless of the weather or what clothing I am wearing. And, since it is hammerless and stainless steel (S&W 640) it's heavy enough to absorb recoil and accurate on follow up shots, for me, but I have been carrying it since about 1996 or so.

I carry an M&P 9 M2.0 in an Amberide (Tulster clone) IWB holster, and I often forget it’s there using the Gunner Eagle belt from Hank’s belts. In my opinion, you simply can’t beat a heavy leather gun belt, and Hank’s Gunner belt fits the bill. With a 100 year warranty... I think it’ll be with me for a while.

@@mrmayhemvote1877 3-4 inches past your normal size works well. For me 3 inches past (or larger than) my normal size works perfectly, and I carry my Glock 19 with extra mag and colonel knife. All IWB appendix. There is definitely no need to go more than 4 inches past your normal size.

Good video. Couldn't agree more that a quality gun belt is needed if you're going to EDC. The difference between these belts and a Wal-Mart $20 special is night and day. They are expensive at $70 - $90+, but worth the money for the support and comfort you get when carrying. Don't do the "universal" buckle that slides. After using one for 5-6 months, it starting having trouble keeping tension on the belt and the belt would slip out. For those first couple of months it was absolutely fantastic! But if a buckle won't secure the belt, you might as well not wear a belt. Save yourself time and money go with a traditional buckle.

A few important points: 1. Thick heavy belts are great for denim jeans with loose belt loops, but you just can't use a heavy, thick belt with dress slacks. Or a lot of other pants. You're going to need a steel or polymer core thin belt for those situations. 2. Regarding sizing, every belt company does it differently - it might be your waistline, or the length of the belt, or some arbitrary number that corresponds to the end of the belt up to the middle of the holes. Check the sizing guides before you buy! 3. Kore leather belts are the all around best choice - sturdy for good support, thin for versatility and comfort, leather finish for being discreet, adjustability for perfect fit even with weight and rig changes.

I basically use two different types of gun belts, I have a Jukmo tactical belt and I also have the Wolf Tactical, I really don’t like the Wolf Tactical belt because I have to take the buckle off to get it in the belt loops which is a pain in the rear if your in a rush. I prefer the Jukmo belt it’s comfortable and keeps my pistol nice and tight on me at 4 o’clock

I really like products from Relentless Tactical; holsters are affordable and fit my pistols nicely. I don’t carry but use holsters to protect my guns for storage transport. When RT had a sale on gun belts I ordered one. It doesn’t sag or twist. I got the basket weave version in brown. When another sale came along I ordered the same belt in black. Both belt are better than others I’ve spent 2-3 times as much for that hang unused in the closet. Try these out, folks.

Kore is the best for my dollar. All those belts you have are thick has hell, very stiff and totally uncomfortable. My kore belt is plenty stiff with a reinforcement center BUT it flexes and micro adjusts thats why its my go to when I have to wear all day with my 1911 setup.

I may need to try Kore belts. I use a Carhart traditional belt and its thicker than normal. I bought this at Cabelas. My holster doesnt twist when i carry IWB. Dont get the Wally World belts. Worthless. Mine cost 40 bucks. Well worth it 👌

I love Nexbelt...but any EDC belt with a ratchet-system, or method of easily cinching/de-cinching makes it a lot easier/comfortable for me. I started with a belt with Velcro adjustment and a cobra buckle. It was good, but I was having trouble getting the belt as tight as I needed to get the gun drawn INTO my body instead of barely making contact, if it all.

My only beef with Nexbelt is that they don't supply a keeper. Kore makes a similar ratchet system gun belt, and they supply a keeper with theirs. Unless you've cut the belt so the end only extends an inch or so beyond your belt loop when tightened, a keeper really helps keep the stiff belt from sticking out away from your body.
