Yeah, my shared number one favorite spot belongs to the H-60's (pretty much all models) and the Soviet Mil Mi-24D, and then the second spot (also shared) belongs to the UH-1 Huey and the Mil Mi-8 "Hip". Those are my favorite vehicles ever, but there's one non-helicopter vehicle that goes above all, and that's the F/A-22 Raptor!

For those who are curious, this paint job is the Coast Guard's ceremonial "Centennial" paint job. Though make no mistake. This bird sees plenty of action.

Hoping they didn't buy too much of that color and plan on sharing it with the other A/S. Wasn't a fan when they painted the 140's black instead of leaving them white much less red (as the icebreakers they are). Hey, if they can justify painting the Mackinaw red when it's as much a buoy tender build as anything else, they could have painted the 140's red. Just my opinion of course.. :-)
@davecrupel28173 жыл бұрын
@@tc1uscg65 I'd want black paint while flying around ice. The slight extra warmth from the sunlight can only help keep the sheet metal skin in better condition. But that's purely a practical standpoint, not an asthetic one.

Most if not all helicopter take off videos, regardless of type/model have this sound and it's something that, from childhood, represents the "helicopter sound" for me.
