Technically you can apply on basic training but they don't have USCIS on post anymore, so I applied at the end of AIT and got interviewed 15 days after I got back home. And no you don't have to wait 1 year since US still in war on terrorism.

Hey, I filled for my Citizenship its been more than 3 years. I did my interview, I passed they told me they will get back to me. ... (when I won a greencard and I never included my son, but when I filled for Citizenship, I added my son ) they then last year January asked for my son's birthday certificate and I sent them. In July,I received a letter to appear in court for deportation proceedings that I lied to the consulate... so they have been postponing my court date... I didn't manage to travel last year, I was advised not to cross any border... what are the chances of me getting sworn in? I already petitioned for my son too already. Will this case be waved or what are the expected outcomes? Can I travel to Africa? If so, what do I need to avoid being detained at the port of entry?

Your son needs to be 21 to apply for you and it depends how long you overstayed. If 6 months or less, then you have a 3 year bar...if more than a year there is a 10 year bar. You may need the waiver depending on when you violated the law.

@@GrayLawTV Sorry, English isn’t my first language so it gets quite confusing for me. “The applicant must demonstrate good moral character for at least 1 year prior to filing the application until the time of his or her naturalization” So this part is quite confusing, for new immigrants does that mean I have to have spent one year in the US before filing for N-400? You can choose not to reply if you feel like this question has been answered in your video already but I have watched the whole thing and I get the general idea but I’m still confused with regards to my situation.
