These interviewsers iften get on my nerves the way they question. Not sensitively, but sort of sounding like a cold ignorant way like a detective. Interviewers ruin it for me so I have to stop watching when I would of otherwise keep watching.

I disagree. She went with the flow. She picked up on what Sarah Katz was saying. She was skillful in occasionally taking Sarah back (to Belgium, for example), but readily returning to Sarah’s timeline for us. We got a good picture of how Sarah’s life has played out.

I dont agree that she's a bad interviewer. I believe they have long conversations before they interview. They try to get all the details, so that people will be able to see the interview and possibly find names and dates and stuff out of it.

Sarah tells us she hated school in Arad, Romania, and then she goes forward in time to when she was in Israel (c. 1949-1959) to contrast the Arad schooling experience with school in Israel. Nota Bene: Sarah says “Mossad,” but, later in the conversation she mentions that “Mossad” was a type of kibbutz. It is apparent to me that she is referring to a moshav, which is indeed, a version of a kibbutz. She loved how she was schooled in the moshav. Lovely contrast.

Why is this interviewer always so strict? It sounds like an interrogation. I thought Mrs Katz remained very friendly. What a lovely lady. Thank you for sharing your story.

Editorial comment My keyboard appears locked, so I cannot access quotation marks, apostrophe’s… this apostrophe supplied when a suggestion popped up!… , hyphens, et Alia. Anybody who knows what I am talking about and wants to help… thanks. Sarah does remain friendly and open and I did not feel this was in counterpoint to the interviewer. You find out she was quote fired unquote fired from a factory job because she was getting everybody to laugh and it appears Sarah was unintentionally lowering the factory production levels. You wonder if there is not the bit of the quote class clown unquote in her. She thanks G-d every morning for her wonderful life, even though she is quote busy with doctors… unquote. She cites her mother who said every year after eighty is a blessing. She robustly agrees.

Finding out that it appears she had her own bedroom, tells us stuff (or not). There were five other kids, although the oldest was 18 years older. We don’t know all the details (e.g. who was still at home). When I knew she had so many siblings and she tells us she slept in her bed, I think she implied, alone, I was taken aback. Really? We don’t know stuff, but asking Sarah this was a perfectly OK question imo.

I wish interviewers would be less stressed about getting facts, and encourage, be open to the persons experiences and feelings...

Its kind of odd that they're asking extremely personal questions about her extended family. We don't need to know who her great grandchildren are or where they live or what jobs their parents have. Its very dangerous in the modern world to give out such info. Im surprised she didn't ask the street they grew up on, the name of their first dog and the last 4 number of the social security. 😒

@@cindyhalpern3187 that's a truly evil and ignorant thing to say, especially considering the context here. I hesitate to explain to you, but this type of thinking and speaking actually makes you an awful person. sorry to tell you. flip it and reverse it.
