This is the fifth testimony filmed in 2024 that I have watched. The interviewer is much better than the other ones. The survivor is very healthy and vibrant. I do appreciate getting to view these testimonies. I hope we can make these, including the ones from the 90s a required part of every American high school curriculum. So much to learn, so important to hold these facts/truths going forward in these times.

I've watched many of these interviews over the years. I often have to take a break for a few months because they're so harrowing. This wasn't one of my favourites, I'll leave it at that. It's interesting to me how some people suffered horrific atrocities and others were able to leave and come to America. Her Mother was a courageous, determined fighter and there's no doubt that's how they were able to leave.

I just started to watch... PL, there is NO such language like Yugoslavian ???? They had many languages in that country in those days.

You are absolutely right. If she was from Zagreb, than her family was speaking Croatian in that times we called it Serbo- Croatian, and is big difference between languages in ex Yugoslavia.

I think for a time migrants from that region generically referred to themselves as Yugoslavian when in actuality they were Croatian, Serbian etc that was my experience with my school friends anyway.

@@estherfourfourteen5508 that is true. In those days, while Yugoslavia still existed, we were all Yugoslavs, but from different republics. We also spoke different languages, depending on the republic: Slovenian, Serbo-Croatian, Macedonian. In the area of two autonomous regions, Hungarian and Albanian were spoken. However, the Yugoslav language as such did not exist

I can’t believe her mom got past himmler! So lucky! I thought for sure it was bad at that point. First video of these I’ve watched where someone had an interaction with him. Crazy! Happy for her family.
