Last tip. Use thread locker. From all skate parts the 45d strap ends are THE ones that unscrew the easiest unless you use thread locker.

I'm not sure, but I think the reason why the other side has the two mold markers is because the 45* buckle has two mounting holes. I know this because I did this same mod to my Sway 57 II's about a month ago and instead of using the Carbon velcro strap, I used a Powerslide replacement cuff buckle. The holes are exactly where the mounting screws for the handle side mounting of the buckle go. It doesn't look as nice as the Carbon velcro strap does, but man, I can really get my foot immobilized with those cuff buckles. It's a definite improvement.

Just got the Montr3 new pro model skate as a suprise Christmas gift. Less then 2 month prior I had gotten myself the SWAYs, and realized how clutch that 45 strap is. As a way to keep my Montr2's fresh Im going to add this 45 strap to the sways.

Bro I been thinking of adding some 45° to my Cult graphite. I have the stock straps that lock As I added red straps and ill be swapping the souls with red after I work on these grays. Im going for that red bottom jordans look.

So I have RB Twister 80, and I love that boot... but being an old boot I am unable to find anywhere 45 buckles for it, what do u think will bee possible go install velcro strap on that boot ?

i saw some other videos that claim the plastic used for the zoom is different than tha sway. softer maybe. since you have both can you confirm or deny? was considering getting zooms and ordering sway soul plates so i can swap frames.

@@jeffi.8074 i don't know if this strap is still available anymore... but there are a few velcro straps out there like Faction or JAD straps that should work

does this work for all Sway models or just Sway 57? I'm thinking about grabbing a pair of USD Sway 3 and if that is compatible that's a huge plus!

Yes... the Sway 3 has the mold lines as well... I actually did this mod to a pair before I made this video

I'm 32 weighing 230lbs and I'm starting to feel my body slowly deteriorating due to bad diet and lack of exercising. I have been told it does work... apparently the side with the 2 holes lines up with the holes on the buckle

Have you ever tried this with the razors shifts? I want to give it a go with mine but at the same time it seems a bit risky. theyre the same boot as the cosmos which have a 45 degree strap, but there's no recessed part in the mold

I did it with a pair of Cults... I used the same ratchet strap that came on the cosmos. It came out pretty good but it wasn't as easy. You just gotta eyeball it as best as you can, use pictures as a reference

@@oustit I highly recommend the Reign V3... the material around the heel prevents the liner from moving around in the shell and the density of the cuff helps reduce the forward flex most people complain about

The strap I used is off a set of USD VII Roman Abrate pro boots... USD Carbon straps work just as well.

These frames are the Kizer fluid IV's... they are specifically designed for anti-rocker and cannot be used for flat. If you are looking for a flat frame I suggest the Kizer fluid V

I used it off a set of size 10 USD VII Roman Abrate that I already had... its the same strap as the carbon

What kind of performance boost does this give the skate? I just picked up a pair and I'll give a mod a shot if its a significant improvement. Also getting back into it after years off (with a casual session mixed in every few months). My last skates were razors gen 7s so I am catching up to a lot of tech. So far I've been on them a handful of times and enjoy them quite a bit.

If you have ever felt you heel lifting from the base of the shell while skating or jumping then this is definitely a mod you should do... I noticed a ton of heel lift using the Sway and this is hands down the best solution for the problem. By keeping your heel in place it helps make the skate feel one with your foot improving responsiveness and overall performance

Trust me: you'll want to do this mod. The Sways 57's are super comfy skates, but they give you heel lift like a mutha. As I stated above, I did this mod with cuff buckles rather than the velcro strap and I can say that even though it doesn't look as nice, it GREATLY improved my skating with the skates. If you really want to be able to crank down on your foot, I'd recommend doing this mod with cuff buckles (but then again, maybe the Carbon velcro strap is just fine too... It does look cooler, for sure...)
