lol, I summited MSH last year via the Worm Flows Route... had an easy enough time getting up... hit the summit at 6:30 am on the dot... but was sleep deprived and accidentally went down Monitor Ridge while it was still under 5 ft of snow... when the blue diamonds disappeared and the trail vanished, ended up shwackin' back to the parking lot for like... 6 hours Was an unexpected journey

It's the same reason why there's a climber's register. It's so they can keep track on who is on the mountain at all times. You don't want to hike up 8000+ feet onto an active, snowy volcano, accidentally lose your footing and slide down - and no one knows you're there, or to come looking for you. There's no cell phone reception up there, so if you're lost or need help - you're kinda screwed otherwise.

So nice that our resources provide you the job to patrol us, and charge a us to climb a mountain that was here long before us and will be here long after us ,thanks big brother .

you don't have to pay before March 31st. They do search and rescue as well for the Yahoos that don't know what they're doing. Has to be paid for somehow.

It's so people dont trash the mountain or kill themselves trying to climb it. Calm down
