Wildland Fire Program Crew 8 with Centennial Job Corps and Veterans

The Boise National Forest has sponsored a wildland fire crew with the Centennial Job Corps and hired seasonal veterans. The military veterans have been key in the leadership on the wildland fire crew. This program is a career starting point and gives valuable experience for Job Corps students and military veterans.

I was on this crew. my pic and background photo are from a couple fires we had. Awesome opportunity and worth staying for! The crew boss, crew supervisor, and squadees are each their own awesome person with great lead and crew mentality that taught me better discipline, leadership, hard work and gave me so much time to think to myself out in the middle of nowhere. That alone matured me so much and I couldn't have made a better choice. Would recommend job corps and the wildland program to anyone! Thank you Centennial Job Corps, and the USDA Forest Service for being a part of this journey in my life.
