I will never forget the lesson in this video. I can't. While I was watching it, listening on the speakers instead headphones, I didn't realize my wife had come home from work. She must have really liked the tune, because the rest of the night, at random times, she would surprise me with a little "I'm working on delaaaaay." (Damn glad the girl can carry a tune.) So, just wanted to say, Thanks For The Earworm!!! :-) :-) : -)

I'd sidechain it after I got it just right to 1/4 or 1/8 notes with a compression ratio of 10:1

Those ksm 32 and 44 are soooo slept on its not even funny. Literally sound incredible and can go head to head with most high end mics easily. Cool video ✌

Definitely an advanced technique that I'd love to be able to use. Learning the concept is great, just need to translate the work flow to my own set up. Thanks for the lesson. I'm working with delaaaaaaaayo!

This sounds so cool and YOUR VOICE! If I didn’t see the video I’d think it was Freddie Mercury. Queen LOVED their delays. Vocals on Prophet’s song amd guitar with Brighton Rock. Thanks for the great video. And yeah automation is key.

Very cool! I'm not a huge fan of pitch correction generally, but this is very intriguing as a creative choice. Thanks for the video Chris, you're a legend mate!

Would you use this technique on the entire vocal , or create a second track and just use it for some tasteful sections? I can see this being used at the end of a verse or chorus But not throughout the entire vocal. But it does sound really cool, thanks for sharing
@QuincyKane2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the song; I would probably use it just for certain sections, but there are no rules, just whatever you think works best!

This maybe off topic, but I have the DT 770 Pro headphones and audio-technica mic. My problem is that when recording, I am hearing the beat echoing even after playback in the background. Like the mic is picking up the beat from the headphones. I turned the beat down a little and you can still hear it. Sometimes it is so low I cannot hear the beat. How can I fix this, still hear the beat, but not the beat echoing in the background behind??
@Tyre3onthetrack2 жыл бұрын
Buy closed back head phones they reduce the bleed from your headphones into the mic I can’t recall if the 770s are semi open or closed
@SuperKvlogs2 жыл бұрын
@@Tyre3onthetrack They’re closed back. I fixed the problem yesterday tho. Idk why when I record on one track it creates a second track of audio. And the second track is fairly noisy, lots of background noise. Once I delete the second track. Everything plays back normal. Do you know how I can make it record just one track only?

I have been using pro tools first and cannot figure how to "save as". Basically I use virtual drums and bass which take forever to get to sound the way I like. I want to have a uniform drum and bass from song to song so in the past I would create these instruments then save that as a template. Each time I'd start a new song I would load up that template and start from there. With pro tools first I cannot save as a template, as it makes me erase the song I have or start from scratch. Any ideas to save as in pro tools first too keep the song and essentiall make a copy of it to use that sonic template for another song

This is great info but I am always amused by people that add a video insert of themselves that is totally superfluous. You really should ask yourself - do people come here to watch you perform or did they came for information? You can consider this trolling of you like but this is typical of YT videos.
@chrisliepe2 жыл бұрын
This isn’t performing at all. This example was specifically made up to show the delay effect I’m teaching. Plus… why would you want to learn from someone who couldn’t demonstrate what they are teaching. This isn’t an ego thing or a self promotion thing at all. I’m teaching, having fun making videos and learning along the way myself!
