where can i find this boolean tool ? i dont think i have it and i download the latest version
@gjuroo4 жыл бұрын
10:32 Nothing smarter comes to my mind at this moment but... While you still have mesh curve, press F to fill it. Then inset instead of sizing the whole curve. Make as many insets as you need. Then copy only those inseted edges and convert them to curves.

what butten do you press for the mesh tool

Can you do a video about making a rectangular bail for pendants or flattening a side of the bail made with the circle tool

I can.

Do you delete the diamonds at the end?
@watchesandjewelry Жыл бұрын
You only have to export the metal parts out as an stl file. Deleting the diamonds from your model isn’t necessary as long as you select the pendant only. Remember however, that the export window has a box for selected only. This needs to be checked otherwise blender will export all the models in the scene

How come the cutters get joined/merged with the diamonds everytime i use them? If i delete them after the boolean difference the diamonds disappear also. I'd like to keep them for rendering.
@watchesandjewelry2 жыл бұрын
Not sure why you are having that issue. After adding the cutter, select the cutter, then the model. Make sure you have only those two items selected. Apply the Boolean difference. That should work every time.

@@watchesandjewelry thanks, I'll try to hide the stones before adding the cutters.

Can you import a 3D piece from a camera to add to the Bender software
@watchesandjewelry3 жыл бұрын
If you can 3D scan an object and convert it to an acceptable format, yes. I.e. lidar scanning on a phone, save it as an obj format file ten import into blender. You may have to tweak your object. It works great for gaming

Hello Peter. I just love your torturials. One problem though. When you get to the part about the PRONGS right, once I load my PRONGS for the diamonds they load in upside down. Can you help me?

Are u using the add gem from Jewelcraft? If you are. You may have to remove the addon and re install it. If you are using another source for your gems you can try and use. Control-A and set location and scale
@mrsospliffy32163 жыл бұрын
@@watchesandjewelry I'm using the JewelCraft package from your KZbin Channel. I also have a Mac. So I did exactly what you instructed for Mac users. But I will reinstall JewelCraft.

I reinstalled JewelCraft, and reloaded my project. The Prongs still loaded upside down.

Two questions: how do I make the bail and if I do, do I give it to the caster and they will combine the pendant and the bail together?

for some odd reason i keep getting that same error even after i exported the .stl and imported it back in ..is there any way to make the mesh solid or something

Try using the remesh tool. It will upscale the mesh like crazy and make it super hard to work with but it will fix errors for 3d printing. After upscaling use the decimate tool to downscale while keeping accurate mesh.

Awesome tutorial! How do you do so the gems and prongs look in clay material? Currently, I see the gems with a shiny coat and a metal finish for the prongs. Can't see how to change this in the settings.
@watchesandjewelry4 жыл бұрын
On my channel is a video that covers some add ons. One of them is a material addon. It is listed under the playlist for blender. There are three. The last or most current covers blender 2.9. In the materials is one called transparent.
@watchesandjewelry4 жыл бұрын
If you want them to look like clay just assign the wax material. It is the closest

i'm having trouble selecting the faces, it keeps selecting a whole panel alone
@watchesandjewelry4 жыл бұрын
Hi... I’m going to assume you are in edit mode. If you cannot select a face individually, make sure that the “face select” option is selected in the upper left corner while in edit mode. If you’ve already done that, then switch to object mode, and make sure that the item “letter” that you have selected is a mesh object and not a text or curve object. If it is still a text object that has not been converted to a mesh, then do so while in object mode, then enter edit mode and you should be able to select any piece of the mesh you like, as a face, vertex or line. Hope this helps. If it didn’t, let me know I’ll work with you to get it set correctly.

Are These Designs Print Ready ???
@watchesandjewelry2 жыл бұрын
Any model you make in blender can be 3D printed. You should always check your models for errors and if it is fine and to scale, simply export it as an stl file. Import into your slicer and you are ready to go.
