My body totally rejects its consumption now, I developed some kind to intolenrance. I learned how to eat real food instead and my muscle gain rate is the same. No bcaa, no whey, no glutamine, no preworkout, etc. Used that money into real food. Just a strict ketogenic nutrition plan with intermitent carbs and my gains still rocks. Leucine induced insulin secretions, insulin spike does not equates to increased blood sugar. It's what you eat before and after the consumption of leucine that affect the glucose level in your body. So if you don't consume enough calories for a heavy workout, leucine can cause hypoglycemia

@kirkklepfer8672 жыл бұрын
My grass-fed whey protein isolate has 2380mg of luecine & the pea protein he recommends has 2614mg of luecine. Therefore the pea protein spikes insulin more than the whey protein. Protein powders have different amino formulations so insulin responses vary by manufacturer not the type of protein. Furthermore my preferred whey protein has protein fractions to aid digestion. I tried Sun Warrior and found it was gritty whereas the whey has a smooth texture.

Whey isolate typically has 10% Leucine by weight ~ 2.5g/25g scoop. The pea protein you tout has roughly the same 2.6g leucine/25g scoop. Same amount of Leucine would imply the same insulin spike assuming the absorption is same. What's your evidence that Leucine from pea protein is absorbed, less bio available, or more slowly released through digestion than that from whey protein? If you are a healthy person an insulin spike is a perfectly normal and useful part of an anabolic process.

Dr. Eric Berg says that we need to add some fat to protein shakes in order to buffer the spike in insulin. You are saying that the protein would spike insulin and adding fat would be instantly stored as fat. Help!
@Kivut5 жыл бұрын
If there are carbs in play, then yes. But don't bother with this; if you use iso whey, it should be absorbed by your body rather quickly and at the end of the day it depends on your macros if you stay in keto because you want to have around 75% of your total calories from fats which is not that easy if you try to avoid heavy Omega 6 fats. If you eat meat then protein powder is not really neccessary for you as you already should have enough protein intake, important is that the total protein intake is not much higher then 20%, because a higher amount of proteins results in a higher concentration of uric acids (especially if you don't do sports) and since the conversion of protein to fat/carbs is rather inflammatory (generally speaking), so you don't want to have excess protein, because you don't have any advantage from it.

Calogen - Not protein so doesn't grow muscles, good for recovery only, can put in coffee

This is the first time I’ve ever seen a “Protein Explanation” video that was overwhelming in favor of pea protein. What’s that? He’s sponsored by a pea protein product? I’m sure that’s just a coincidence. To be on the safe side, I think I’ll get future information from people without a monetary stake and who will supply links to the scientific studies they are quoting.

Great video. Enjoyed it very much. I was wondering on your thoughts on bone broth protein.

Bone Broth is missing Leucine, which is the main Amino Acid responsible for Muscle Building (Muscle Protein Synthesis). Although all of the Amino Acids are used to build Muscle, Bone Broth should be consumed with Bone / Skin health in mind - eat Muscle / Organ Meats to get the proper Protein ratios required for Building Muscle.

@@Ariel-oo1nc i never knew that? didnt know bone broth was missing lueicine? i dont think it is..... u sure?

@@ExploitMage bone broth only contains 3 of the 18 amino acids. You can look it up on Google.

@@ThomasDeLauerOfficial Hi, I'm new to your channel. I wanted to ask, is it true that having a protein shake after my workout will knock me out of ketosis?? I've started keto this week and I've been having a protein shake after my workout for the last 5 years. Its a healthy one, but I was told that because whey protein is to lean, will knock you out of Ketosis. If this is true, can I add 2 tablespoons of peanut butter inside the shake? Will in counter this effect and keep me in Ketosis?

So basically, what I understood is... I can take PEA PROTEIN only... Both for breaking my Intermittent Fasting in the afternoon and also throughout the day & at dinner... Don't really need whey isolate... Right?? :D
@marynguyen64174 жыл бұрын
Should we have to be concerned about pea protein as it may still have lectin in it ( the mechanical processing would not remove lectin , i think). Then just as rice protein, which has gluten like compound, wouldn't pea protein consumption cause leaky gut, especially when it is taken right after a fast? I love to hear anyone's thought on this. Thanks heaps!
@clarebrody13 жыл бұрын
I've been wondering this too! Also with almond protein getting popular. Lectins get destroyed by heat I thought so maybe in the process it's reduced 🤷

If you eat beef, does your body say, "Okay, this is protein, but it's animal and I'm a human?"

Phyliss Todd I think he did a video on bone protein. I have tried everything and bone marrow soup is the most natural derivative of animal product protein. Plus collagen is a huge benefit. Try to get organic though, if not, trim the fat.

Every time. His information is still good but it's obvious he's getting a sponsor before picking a topic of the video. It's to make the sponsors happy, not the viewers. I'm really disappointed in this channel lately.
@ThomasDeLauerOfficial5 жыл бұрын
I could literally have a sponsor for every topic that I talk about. Why on earth would I not drive attention to something I use? No one is forcing anyone to buy anything. It’s literally passive mentions. No one is every deprived of information in a sponsored video. Period. It’s always the same amount of info but I also highlight what you can get and where you can get it cheaper.

@@ThomasDeLauerOfficial To be honest, I never felt like you pushed for anything other than giving people good information and a source of a place where to get some of the products you talk about. I never bought anything that KZbin fitness 'gurus' promote but your "sales pitch" was subtle enough that I have decided to check it out. Guess what, I got two jogs. So thanks, man! It looks inexpensive compared to other vegan proteins and doesn't have a lot of components. I hope the quality is good as well!
