Are you gonna make an opening about the Benoni Defense anytime soon?
@ChessSensei
@ChessSensei Жыл бұрын
Currently, we don't have any plans for the Benoni Defense. We are going to make chess puzzles/game review videos to see if you guys enjoy that type of content. However, if you have any specific openings you'd like to request, please let us know, and we can consider them when planning future video topics!

But why Magnus carlsen when using sicilian defense it is very difficult to win to him if that theory is correct?

Brilliant video, as always! You have made sub-2000 elo players afraid to play the Sicilian ever again! The way you show it, it seems like it has more holes than Swiss cheese 😂

I Like your Videos and I think they're good quality. I Just have one Problem with the Videos, specifically with the titling/thumbnails of the Videos. That Problem being that you make These openings seem Like they're mistakes that are easily punishable even though that is Just Not true and the lines you Show are often Just quick tricks that can actually get punished themselves. You make a complicated opening that has more theory than any human could ever remember seem like they're a mistake(as Said before). Another Thing about this Video specifically is that you give information that is Just straight Up wrong at the start (the sicilian doesn't start with e4 c5 Nf3 d6, but it rather Starts much earlier With e4 c5. Also right after the alapin doesn't start with e4 c5 Nf3 d6 c3 but after e4 c5 c3. I know that's just me nerding and I think they're just small mistakes in writing, but what you are saying isn't quite correct). Another thing is that if black doesn't misplay this variation (after e4 c5 Nf3 d6 Bc4 Nf6 e5 dxe5 Nxe5 e6) black is just better, wich in the opening is a pretty bad thing if you are playing white. You might be saying that while it's worse for white it's a trick opening wich means that black often falls into traps and white is winning more games than black. But on the lichess player database (Including all elos and all time controlls except Superbullet) black is actually winning more than white (Ratio is: 42 % White wins to 52% Black wins), so this variation isn't the best. In my opinion this is just straight up bad advice, as Bc4 in the sicilian is widely considered to be a mistake by grandmasters across the world and has actually only rarely been played at a master level, 'cause you just aren't supposed to play the sicilian defense like an italian game as white. Bc4 is actually playable at lower levels and doesn't loose in any way, it just isn't good enough for master play. But this is just one side of the leaf because on the other side it's good that you're teaching people what to play against the sicilian and it's your entire brand to make good openings seem like utter garbage (Wich is a really good and creative idea), but maybe it would be cool of you to add at least something for beginners to tell that this variation is objectively not too good. And at the end of the day this criticism is just coming from a religious sicilian player who thinks that Bc4 is Blasphemy to the sicilian gods or some sh*t like that and the video is actually totally fine. I don't wanna say that this video is bad, I'm just saying to maybe in the future give more sound weapons against openings than this or make disclaimers that the opening you are recommending is not optimal to play if your opponent knows how to counter it. Also the video is quite old and I watched the newer video for the ruy lopez and it is actually way better than this one in quality and the information there is correct. Plus the variation you give there actually seems to be a good line and played at gm level (At least that's what I've seen I don't play the ruy Lopez with white or black) so I think you've improved since this video and I really liked your newest video. So thanks for reading this comment, it's a long one

1:43 Why not include Qe7 in the possible moves for black?
@ChessSensei
@ChessSensei Жыл бұрын
Because Qe7 is just not a good move for Black as the Queen blocks his own Bishop on f8 from developing. You could continue with g6, Bg7 but that would just take a bunch of extra moves. I try to cover the most played moves in the lichess database (usually the top 2-4 most common replies) and Be7 or Bd6 has over 5000 games played each, whereas Qe7 only has 6 games played which shows how bad the move is and no one would play it. Also, if I were to cover every single possible option in every single move, our videos would probably be 1000 hours long :)

I don’t get how at 1:40 white makes any valid threats with a knight sacrifice. King captures, and then you’re trading your bishop for a pawn?

After 9. a4 b5 10. axb5 axb5, its White to move so White can play 11. Rxa8 capturing Black's rook instead :)

@ChessSensei
@ChessSensei Жыл бұрын
Are you referring to Qc7 on move 9 for Black in the Line 3: Bd6 variation? If that's the case, it's the most played move on the Lichess database. If you were referring to Qc7 on move 13 after 13. Rd3 Qc7, it doesn't matter as White is already winning close to +3 according to Stockfish. Our content is tailored for beginners to intermediate players, focusing on practical concepts and providing a simplified approach to variations. Therefore, moving the Queen away from danger is a very natural move a beginner would play and I was just showing a nice combination which could happen.
